items not selling

Hi,

i have been trying to sell mobile accessories for quite a while now, and i know that it is quite a competitve market, but my sales just do not rise, and when i look at other competitors listings they seem to make 2-5 times as many sales as i do and i cannot figure out why this is.

Here is a link to my eBay store, could anyone mind having a look at it and my products listings to see if there are any problems with it or if you can see any or think of any reasons why my products are not selling.

Link: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/the-mobile-accessories-store

Many thanks,

Sam

Re: items not selling

You only have 3 listings that I can see. That's not very impressive for a store. It's like going into a brick-and-mortar shop and seeing only 3 items on the shelves with a lot of empty space. It makes you amateurish, to be honest. And it certainly puts a ceiling on how much you're going to sell.

Why are you paying for a store subscription when you only have 3 listings? Waste of money. You need at least 100 listings before even a Basic store starts to make sense.

Re: items not selling

Broaden your inventory, more items the better.

Pictures and Prices are the main factors in which sell your item. Stay professiona, and always competitive. Took me a second to figure out what you was selling with your pictures. Would be very easy to scroll on by.

Broadening your inventory, will increase your sales as well and allow you to benifit from having a store. Stores also increase your exposure.

Good luck

Hi Sam

Just seen your post, i know the frustration, just give it a little time and let your feed back

build up, perhaps a few more items would help ?

Cheers

Well, your original post called it a store. Then you don't have any kind of subscription, just the free listings that every member gets every month.

Even with that being the case, you still only have 3 listings. You're up against established sellers selling a range of products, many of them directly related to each other so that if someone needs more than one thing it's more convenient for them to buy from that one seller rather than from you.

You have a user ID and an avatar that brands you as a real store, as opposed to some random guy selling his extra stuff, and yet you only have 3 different items. That's not going to impress a lot of people in a competitive category.

Re: items not selling

I just looked at your listings. On 2 of your items you have a large truck stating "free shipping" on your main photo but I am being charged about $7 for shipping. Remove the truck logo if you are charging shipping, don't need problems after the sale.

Re: items not selling

1) Your listings are far too complicated and confusing for what you are selling.

2) Listing variations are a terrible way to let users buy multiple quantities if ther is no meaningful price break.

3) You are lying to your buyers because youre images say you have free shipping when you do not have free shipping.

4) You are violating eBay policy buy putting the eBay logo and the "Top Rated Seller" logo on your images.  "You may not use the eBay logo unless you are granted an express written trademark license by eBay."

5) Your improper "Top Rated Seller" logo says "a buyer you can trust". You are a seller, not a buyer - and this makes you look ... well not very sharp.

Re: items not selling

I'm not sure of all of the rules in the UK but when you compare yourself to other sellers, do their items for sale look like yours or are they just selling the same thing but with different images, more personalized.

You are selling to a specific market, so you will have to find out what it is your competition has that you don't. Is it experience (i.e. high sales and feedback). Are their items more personalized. Are their prices less than yours.

Yes. To be specific, you've got your Free Delivery icon planted in the listing images, and although it's Free Delivery to UK addresses, to those of us in the U.S. or elsewhere who are viewing the same images, there is a Shipping charge. You need to get rid of that Free Delivery logo.

Free subscription? Well, maybe you get what you pay for.

Re: items not selling

I recently purchased a "lighting cable" for my iphone 5 and paid less than $2 with free shipping from China. In the same identical packaging  as yours....so I think you are way overpriced for US buyers.

Re: items not selling

It has been said listing a few items every day boosts visibility.  Certainly, in your case, the more items you have listed, the better your chances will be in actually getting a sale.

Think of it like this~~you put a worm on your line and toss it in the water.  You might get a fish, you might now.  Now think of this~you sprinkle a bucketful of worms in the water...and the fish come.

Re: items not selling

You seem to be familiar with your competition, stating they have more sales, etc.

Look at their listings.  What are they doing that you aren't doing?  Do a search of completed and sold items.  That can be very helpful, too.

Hoping things pick up for you, OP.
