In My eBay under Site Preferences, you can set up shipping tables that will charge specific prices to specific states (or even sections of some states). This would enable you to allow free shipping for most states, then charge an appropriate increment for specific farther states.

Or if it's just a few listings, make an exception to your "Free shipping" policy and set up calculated shipping that will charge each buyer the correct postage based on their location (and on the package weight and dimensions).

No there is no way to do this.  You can however  cancel the transactions before you ship but that will have some negative effects to it.

Not that I'm aware of.

Why do you want to block them? Just curious..

No, you cannot sell to the US and block any of the lower 48. You can only block territories, protectorates, AK and HI.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

@uniwarehousewares

For the few listings you mentioned you wanted to do this why not use the eBay calculated shipping options?

You can hope but I don't know that eBay would provide that feature because it would curtail sales.

I'm sorry.

Yes couldn't, you price the shipping on those zones so high you wouldn't get sales from them?

I haven't used it but I think that you can use the shipping rates table so that you have free shipping to other states but charge shipping for specific states.

goes to the slow typing corner...again.

if you use calculated shipping option, that is not fruitful, calculated shipping options tell you higher price as compare to rate on USPS website you can test it.i have tested it also by different locations through my friends to make sure.so fixed listing is better in my opinion.

You cited shipping costs as the reason you want to block those states.

Aren't your buyers supposed to be paying the shipping costs?

And are you using calculated shipping, not just one-size-fits-all?

The eBay shipping calculator is 99.99% accurate and should show the official USPS prices.  If you give us a specific example, we can probably figure out why they're showing a difference.

You can choose whether the calculator shows the retail price or the discounted online prices, so be sure that you're not comparing retail at one site to online rates at another site.  Also be sure that you have entered package dimensions accurately; Priority Mail going to Zone 5 - 9 has a huge "dimensional weight' if it's over 1 cubic foot.
