if something is accidently listed as BIN that should have been an auction and sold what can I do ?
do you have to honor the sale or can you cancel it and redo the listing ?

You listed it and it sold so you ship it out.

Shouldn't matter how it was sold, it was sold, so you should ship it out.

You were probably better off selling it at a buy it now. Auctions attract too many non payers and sport bidders. If you sold it, congrats! You should ship it and keep your customer happy!
Happy Selling!

You should ship the item. Your mistake, no reason to punish the buyer & likely end up with neg & other problems
Happened to me a while back, had a rare piece of railroad china of unknown value so listed as auction (I thought) with $129 start. Much to my surprise it sold within minutes. Yes I made the same mistake, gritted my teeth & shipped
Had 5 of those, sold the rest at $300 each. Ouch!!

You ship when the buyer pays. Refusing to sell in the most serious rule you can break on eBay. That can lead to a life time ban on selling. eBay does not give any warnings about that. It's like double secret probation. By the time you find out, it's too late. You also risk bad feedback.
Just ship and next time take care when listing.

It's possible to cancel the listing and relist, but I would definitely weigh whether your financial loss on the one item is worth an out of stock defect on your selling account.

You should ship the item, but
If it were me, I would, depending upon the $$ amount, possibly take the account hit for a cancellation.

You have to take responsibility for your actions. It's a business mistake. Everyone makes mistakes, the difference is what you do with them. The buyer did nothing wrong. Learn from it so it won't happen again. Always view / the item you just listed and check for errors. Make sure you don't do BIN and auction listings in the same sitting.

If it is a low value item that would have sold for only a few dollars anyway, it is better to take the hit than take a defect. As you know you are allowed only so many defects before your account is restricted. Save those defects for something major.

You do have options and some come with consequences.
What was the item number, what did it sell for and what is the perceived value of the item?

Was this question related to the 11 Portland Transit Tickets you sold? If so, you can't cancel 11 listings or you will be done on ebay. Best to just learn from your mistake.

If it was 11 items sold to the same buyer at the same time it will count as one as far as the defect is concerned.
