help with a return case

Today a buyer opened a return case but we resolved it. He opened the case without sending me a message before, even I had sent him the instructions by message and it seems that he had not read it. I answer him and we managed to resolve the matter for which he opened the case, but now what? I am asking the buyer to please close the case but I do not get an answer, what happens in a case like this?

If the buyer doesn’t return the item the return case will time out and close. Nothing will happen.

It appears you are trying to avoid the ebay process on returns or SNAD cases. Remember as soon as you step outside the platform,  you have set yourself up for problems. Those cases/returns can be an issue, but they need to be handled properly. Correct me if I am wrong please.

How did you resolve it? Was it was for a partial refund?

I do not understand your answer. I'm trying to get help with this case. As I explained, I responded to the buyer with the solution and he confirmed that it works. What happens now? As for evading what processes you mean because I'm handling everything through ebay.

I sent the buyer a cell phone with a network unlock code with instructions to unlock the phone and use it on his network. Also in the listing I left the note with specific  details. When the buyer receives the item and uses his sim, he cannot use it because it is not unlocked but if I sent him the instructions with the code, then I reminded him, he tried it and he confirmed that it works

The ball is in the buyer's hands now, he can either pursue the return or close the case and eBay will make a decision and let you know the status of the return.

Let it run its course.  Ebay will eventually close the case in your favor as long as he doesn't return the item.

 In the end, if the buyer does not close the case after solved, what happens? I know maybe  the buyer wants to continue testing but I have about 5 days.
