So I called into ebay and they claim nothing is wrong..
Back in july I had a "very high" item not received message come through.... bad month with USPS losing stuff, go figure...
Since then my sales have been crushed, down anywhere from 20-40% monthly from my normal.
I've had a few messages about it, and got another tonight which made me finally call..asking why their delivery estimate was 10 days.... (I use standard shipping category on most of my listings, which should be 1-5 days, plus a 1 day handling)
From the message back in July..."Time automatically added to delivery estimates for listings in the shipping categories and listing sites where your rate is very high"
I think this is somehow still applying to me... but ebay doesn't even seem to understand the message that I"m reading to them... I asked where I can even see that metric and they didn't have an answer. I do not see it in my dashboard or metrics anywhere. I see items not as described, returns, etc. but no metric for items not received.
What am I missing here, does anyone have any advice?? This is so frustrating, I've lost a good bit of $ in sales this summer and this is the only thing I can think of as to why!

Actually, as a buyer, I want it yesterday. No excuses !
You have that right. But hopefully you also keep in mind that the dates are on the listings for a reason. And they are estimates. If you want something faster than the listing and/or the seller states you will get it, hopefully you contact your seller before you purchase to ask for expedited shipping at your expense.
FYI, there is no need for any seller to offer you "excuses" for not getting you something within the time frame that you may expect it when the listing clearly states what the SELLER is committing to. Buyer's don't have the right to expect something that the seller isn't offering on the ad. I should restate that, buyers can expect it, they just can't hold the seller to it.

I recently reported issues to eBay regarding the delivery estimates. FedEx ground (5 day service) is regularly appearing as delivering faster than 3 day guaranteed service to all parts of the country.
Whenever I try to report it to them, they don't want to hear it. They give me the (obviously pre-created) explanation that the "delivery estimates are based upon the most common times for that shipping service".
I told them that on a listing that has a 1 day handling time, there's not a chance at all that the item is going to be getting to a customer within 2 days.
I found the issue because we noticed customers suddenly started paying $10-15 to upgrade their shipping to FedEx ground (when we do free 2-3 day shipping) in order to "receive it faster" and then they're upset because it didn't come on the day eBay said.
I don't believe the CSR submitted a legitimate report. He told us to just let the customer say it arrived late and they will send a $5 credit.
This doesn't make up for upset customers that are reluctant to buy from us, and/or buy from eBay, again because of the issue...
Once again, I'm not sure what to do about this issue. But it's most certainly happening.
(Edit: And the issue was a bit worse last week, because on Friday I reported that only 1 of our available shipping methods was showing on our listings, despite multiple being shown on "Revise".)

With respect, how does this apply to what the Op perceives as their issue? I mean that sincerely. I know what you state is correct, I've seen it happen. I've had it happen. But like I outlined a few posts back, their dates are correct for Standard Delivery, taking the handling time, non business days and the upcoming holiday into consideration. The expected delivery date is showing correctly.

I just wanted to bump this up, see if anybody else has any suggestions, I look at competitors stuff with same standard shipping on the other side of the country and get better estimated times than it shows me shipping to my same zip code...
this sucks!

Refresh my memory. What is the handling time you have stated in your listings?

Mam they show 1 day.
OP, it is showing Dec 2nd and I’m in your state.
Sorry you are still dealing with this.
In their description they say they try to ship in 24 hours, that doesn't mean that is the handling time they have set up in their listing. Or did I miss something?
Yes, I know what the ETA says for my state, Dec. 3rd. With a 2 day handling time and Standard Shipping, the December 3rd date would be correct. Standard is 2-5 days if I remember correctly so that would be 7 business days in total. As we all know we have a holiday next week. So if I purchased today and the seller shipped by Friday, that would leave 5 business days for it to arrive here by the 3rd.
With that said, I see on at least one listing of theirs that it says I'll receive it by November 30th with Standard Shipping. This one differs because if you look at the shipping page it says Standard Shipping [USPS First Class Package]. The ones that I see telling me the 3rd do not show Standard Shipping [FCP].

It shows 1 day in the listing.
