Hi everyone,
just sold some dolls to someone in the US. During the auction i received several messages with only numbers, everytime 3-digit or 5-digit numbers with a '.' or ':' in between (for example 7:38). I asked the buyer to explain the weird messages but didn't receive any respons. My auctions have ended a few hours ago and i already received 5 new messages of that kind. Never happened or experienced before! Anyone ideas?

Just send the buyer an invoice and hope it gets paid quick so you can get it shipped out.

I got nothin'. Those don't look like character codes, HTML entities, or anything I've seen before. Collectively, they're not times, or prices, or... phone numbers, or... text addresses, or... or... Bible verses?... I dunno.
Unless you get a spontaneous payment out of the blue sometime soon, I think your UPI is going to time out and you'll need to close it out and relist.

some of them are prices (they're just in GBP not dollars)...28.77 is the shipping costs, the top three are final sale prices...I've been so bored this morning (and avoiding listing items), I scoured the bid histories of them--still didn't get anywhere in finding what the point of the messages is though...lol

Nice detective work! 😁 you're right, thanks. In meantime received six more messages with repeating pattern 7:38, 6:19 and 5:52. Think i wait two more days and if there's no payment i follow the advice of the fellow members in this community and move on 👍 Thanks y'all for the advice !!!!

Oh! Sorry, I thought you were kidding. 😁 Well spotted!
I wonder if the buyer has some sort of sniping software that's gone bonkers on him.

Just to be clear, if you're using the automated Unpaid Item Assistant, you should wait for it to close out your UPI dispute before relisting. If you opened the Unpaid Item Dispute(s) yourself, you will need to wait a full 4 days (96 hours) before you can close them (i.e. when you open them manually, you must close them yourself), and then you will be credited for the Final Value Fees.
You need to complete the UPI process one way or the other, or else you will still be on the hook for the Final Value Fees even though the buyer never paid.

and at roughly $6000 total sales, that's a whole bunch of FVF...

Too weird. Actually I'm not sure how much of the text beyond that point was your quoting the message, or whether you added those last lines at the bottom just now, but I assume that you already have that guy on your Blocked Bidder List (here, and ignore the weird formatting; just add the ID on the end, following a comma and space). You will probably continue to see messages from him anyway, at least for a month or two, but the BBL will at least keep him out of future transactions with you.
(There is also a Seller Preference setting to block a BBL ID from messaging you, but I think your most recent transaction with him has to time out first before that will take effect.)

Personally, I would hope it DOES NOT get paid quickly. This whole thing is squirrelly and the faster the OP can leave it behind, the better off he will be.
