I sold the ring on Ebay for $750 and I shipped it immediately. I did not understand the limitations on Ebay about the signer being needed for the amount of $750 or more. The buyer almost instantly made a claim that he had not received the ring and showed his intentions to try and get a refund. I then looked up his record and realized that I was being scammed. I have the packing label as well as the receipt from USPS that shows that the package was delivered. I googled the address and name on the shipping label and found a criminal background of the purchaser of the item which is long and extensive. Most of this is theft, breaking and entering, and grand theft auto. I know i may lose my money now but it is more about making sure that this does not happen to someone else. I know the States Attorney General and have sent her all the information in the case and she is seeing what she can do for me in the consumer claims division. I know she will do all she can for me. Is there anything else that I can do?

With all due respect, that is what he said he did. I'm reposting that for your clarification here. Hope this helps.
Post number 32
I authorized the return....It says he has to file before the 16th or it will be closed. Im wondering where he is going to go with this now....really curious how he is going to handle this
That's how it shows now, but originally message 33 was a correction for message 32 (from the OP). After message 33 appeared, there was still enough editing time on message 32 to allow the OP to go in and correct the wording.
If you look at the latest revision timestamps for each one, you'll see that message 32 is actually timestamped about a minute and a half after message 33 was last posted.

@a_c_green, how can you see what his problem buyer has bid on? I clicked the bid history on the OP's item but it didn't tell me anything.
You're almost there... After you bring up the bid history, click on the disguised bidder's ID, and that will pop up his 30-day history, showing numerous bids or purchases for listings from numerous other sellers. Quite a busy beaver.

That makes sense, a_c, thank you for pointing that out. The edit/correction threw the thread off at that point. Apologies to sam9876. That was the post that seemed wrong.

omg I feel for you. My worst fear getting scam on expensive item. Nothing you can do on the ebay end since you didn't get sig you lose. I have heard of people pursuing legal action have some sucess. Sometimes even if they just think you might it's good enough like a letter from a lawyer or something might be enough to scare them into doing the right thing.

To see his 30-day bidding/buying activity yourself, you have to be logged out of your selling account, so that you're viewing the bid history page as an outsider like the rest of us.
So log out of your eBay selling account, then look up that bid history page again, and you should find that the bidder ID is now disguised with asterisks. Click on the disguised ID, and it will show you his 30-day bidding/buying activity. Let us know if that works for you.

So the buyer accepted the return and put the tracking number in I provided when i purchased the return label from ebay....Its just sitting there in tracking.....never recieved from the postal service.....so whats my next move?....How long do I have to wait and should I call ebay CS at some point?

The buyer should have been given 5 business, from the date you approved the return, to ship it back. Ebay should have given you the date as well.

Late to the thread and still catching up, but Paypal SP says:
https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full#spp-basic-req
Signature confirmation, if the full amount of the payment including shipping and taxes exceeds a fixed amount (based on the currency of the payment) from the signature confirmation threshold table below. Signature confirmation is online documentation, viewable at the shipping company’s website, indicating that the item was signed for.
U.S. Dollar:
750 USD
Was the entire sale exactly $750? If so, the seller is still within the threshold of seller protection. (for INR, not for SNAD as this now seems to be)
Just thought I'd throw this in.

It was $750 exactly and ebay's policy says the total cost of $750 or more requires SC. Its an ebay SNAD now. No INR was filed with PP.

My understanding is that the buyer has five full days from when the return label is generated within which to get the package back into the return shipment stream. (By "five full days," I mean 24 hours per day from the actual time that the label was generated.) After that time has elapsed, I believe you're supposed to be able to call Customer Service and get it closed out in your favor.
I have no first-hand experience of having to go through all that, so I'll defer to anyone else who wants to correct me on this here...

I had this happen where someone filed a return request (on an item marked delivered, but it was below the signature threshold), he said he didn't receive it and Customs was sending it back. I went ahead and approved the return and nothing came back.
If I were the OP @rowtid I would be fighting this tooth and nail when I get something else back on the basis that he stated in the case he didn't have it, so how can he send something back he doesn't have. You will need to get the right department (someone help me on this please) and get a person who isn't reading a manual to answer questions to understand that he's claiming non receipt, did a return request, doesn't have anything to return because he didn't receive it, therefore what you got back couldn't have been the item. You might just be able to win this one.
As for Paypal claim or creditcard chargeback... no experience there. I have never won a Paypal Claim.
Cheers, C.
