Ebay sent a promotional offer to sellers:

What is the Promotion?
Invited sellers (“Sellers”) who sell an item through Offer to Buyers on one or more listings during the Promotion Period pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth herein will receive a 50% final value fee credit on up to 500 sale(s) (the “Promotion”)..

For a transaction to qualify for the Promotion, Sellers must complete a sale through the Offer to Buyers tool during the Promotion Period* by (i) initiating an offer to a buyer and (ii) completing the sale based on that offer or counteroffer from the buyer. (“Qualifying Transactions”).

The final value fee credit will equal 50% of the final value fees charged on the sale of Qualifying Transactions. The promotion is valid on up to 500 Qualifying Transactions per seller.

An item is considered listed when it is posted for sale on ebay.com. remains active until 1) the item sells or 2) the end of the listing period is reached. An item is considered sold when it is paid for in full by a buyer.

I find the "most" third-party tools part interesting- I've never seen that in the fine print before. I wonder which third party listing tools are excluded.

I've been wondering about this offer.  It is showing at the top of the community page....but does that mean I'm "invited?"  There was no way to "accept" the offer.  Are they advertising this to all, but only "inviting" a few?"  So ambiguous!

I contacted ebay regarding this, questioning as to why they're showing an offer to sellers but not making them eligible.  I had to provide numerous screenshots and links, as the rep wasn't aware of the offer and couldn't find any into. They verified you do have to receive the invite email, and agreed they normally don't show offers unless its available to you, didn't know why it was happening.

I agree it's very ambiguous and also creates ill will.

Yes, Ebay is reliably tacky.  Sigh. (BTW, the "offer" is still there, mocking my apparently not-part-of-the-cool-seller-clique status.  ha.)

I find it strange also...........the following has been at the top of the selling page for several days:

It certainly sound like bait and switch........since this is what you see when you click on the picture:

Screenshot (173).png

When you click on See Eligible listings, you are taken to your own listings from which you can send the offers......

NO WHERE on these pages is a "you must receive an invite"...........can you confirm an invite is necessary?

Also copying tyler@ebay

Agree 100% this promo should not be at the top of the main page of the community if it is not available to the seller who is seeing it.  I spent an hour trying to figure it all out.  They do say you have to get the email to be invited in the fine print of the offer, but when was that sent? How many days / weeks ago?  I get dozens of emails from eBay and it could be there lost in the stack?  Thanks @dhbookds and others for pressing this issue.  Hope we get an answer soon.  Normally don't send unsolicited offers but in this case I would give it a try if the promo applied to my account.  Isn't that the whole point of the promo 🙂

Oh my! Thanks @dhbookds for bringing this to our attention. I checked the T&C's and it does say by invite only. I'm having it looked into as I can understand the frustration of not everyone being able to participate in this particular promo.
