Why is my final value fees include shipping and sales tax??? Sales tax is paid by the buyer and should not be included in the final purchase price. S&H should be handled separately and fees shouldn't be taken out of them either. You are ripping off your sellers by including these in your final value fees. Isn't 12.55% enough of the sold item??

"There's no law that can dictate how eBay calculates fees. They state it, you agree to it. If they did not charge a fee against sales tax (around 1% if gross sale price on average) then the final value would be bumped around 1%. They have profit targets. Pick one of the many, many 1099-K threads (again) to recommend contacting (again) your Congressman about a piece of passed legislation, though that cow has left the barn with the door slammed shut. "
Thank you for supporting my ebay stock investment over the past 26 years.

Don't thank me. eBay would be out of business If every seller and buyer bought or sold with the frequency I have over the last 6 years.
Anyway, first mover advantage disappears in time and in fact can become a liability. Tesla, for example, is on the cusp of realizing that disadvantage. eBay stock has passed it's sell by date , underperforming the NASDAQ 100 by a very wide margin over the last 5 years while you assume an undiversified company-specific risk. It's barely outperformed the S&P 500 over the same period while assuming that risk.
But none of that will matter to you because you abhor paying taxes. You'll ride the stock into the sunset rather than pay the capital gains tax.
