feedbacks

 After selling for over 6 years on eBay, I just received my first Neg. feedback from a buyer who left me 2 Neg feedback on two purchases that were made over 2 months ago without even contacting me to let me know of any issues, even though I contact them if they have any issues to please contact me first and I will make it right for them..NOTHING-No COMMUNUCATON, I know this should not upset me but first thing in the morning I turned on the computer and I see this, it was very hurtful. I did requested revision and explain myself and also responded to her feedback comment, still no reply.

I honestly do not feel it's right when a buyer does this without contacting the seller first. Further more I do not feel neg. or neutral feedbacks should be left for a WHOLE year, really? It's a constant reminder, like eBay is punishing us or something, and buyers should only have 30 days to leave feedback not 45 days, who came up with this number and why? The only update eBay has done with feedbacks in the past 10 years is allow us to write more words, that's it. It's upsetting and sad and just as hurt people hurt others so to feel better, until they break this cycle is the only way they can heal themselves. Still I must admit it has affected my day today and I can't seem to let go of it, has anyone felt this way? Thank you

Re: feedbacks

Had a similar issue. No details "other than Picture did not match item". Buyer never reached out at any point to indicate they were not happy with the item. I  meticulously provide lots of photos and list all known defects with my listings in both description and condition, in an attempt to be very transparent with what I'm selling. Obviously if you can't take the time to read the description, review the photos or reach out should you have an issue, you shouldn't be buying the item in the first place.  I very infrequently do receive contact from buyers, and I offer free returns/refunds or further discounting if they want to keep the item in event of an issue which is the right thing to do. I always ask questions, particularly around "was the box damaged", etc.  VERY disappointed with ebay that they have me ask the buyer to revise the feedback, which is nonsense.  Feedback without any supporting detail with no attempt to contact the buyer should automatically be deleted.

Re: feedbacks

@ed907

We have had the option to converse and negotiate with our buyers.  Options are a good thing.  Open communication between the buyers and sellers are a good thing.  There have been times the seller has learned that the buyer meant the feedback for a different seller and very willing to revise the feedback.

Feedback simply doesn't work the way you desire, here or anywhere on the internet that I'm aware of.
