feedback

Hi,

I wonder when is a good time to give a feedback to my customers? Should I give them a feedback after I receive from them first? Or wait for few weeks to make sure no complain from the buyers before I give them a feedback?

Thanks.

Re: feedback

@funchoice,

There is no set way or time (except for the 60 day limit) to leave feedback.  Leaving feedback is voluntary so you can leave it as soon as a buyer pays, wait for them to leave it first, leave it in batches when ever you feel like, or not leave it at all.

This is a hot button topic, so you will receive many "suggestions".  Personally I found leaving feedback on receiving payment garnered fewer return feedback from buyers.

I now leave feed back 30 days after tracking shows an item was delivered, and eBay's MBG protection ends.  The exception to my practice is for repeat customers. I leave feedback for them just after shipping.  Since I started doing it that way, I get feedback about 90% of the time.  Doing it the suggested way I was lucky to get feedback 60% of the time. I sell in many different categories, mostly vintage items, and about 25% of my buyers are repeat customers, so I must be doing something right.

Re: feedback

Based on your feedback numbers, this seems like an odd question to pose now.  Did you just take over this ID from someone else?

Feedback is completely voluntary.

Re: feedback

As stated - when to leave feedback is a personal choice. I usually leave it within 30 days of delivery. Sometimes leaving it earlier may garner you feedback that you'd rather not have as the buyer forgot their concerns.

Ex. I left feedback early on a sale saying what a smooth transaction it was and what a great buyer the person was. They remembered that the color was a shade different than what their monitor showed them and left me a neutral in return!

Re: feedback

I'm sure this thread will awaken the Pheedback Phan, so expect a dissertation from them soon ..........

Re: feedback

As a buyer, I leave feedback for my seller immediately after opening and inspecting the item I purchased.

As a seller, I leave feedback for my buyers on the day that tracking shows their purchase was delivered.. or occasionally the following day.   I expect my buyers to like what they received so don't anticipate any problems with complaints.

The *feedback thing* is sort of a holdover from the early days of eBay.   Most places you shop online don't do this sort of thing.   I actually expect it to be phased out in our not-too-distant-future, as it kinda' seems like the bargain basement level of online retail and not the fresh new e-commerce face eBay seems to want to portray now.
