Ever since ebay changed view count on sellers listing, I've not seen any new views

Instead of seeing the lifetime Views you are now seeing 30 day Views.
If it helps, a hundred views without a sale is 100% rejections.
Two views with a sale is one rejection one acceptance. 50% success.

I have seen a lot of complaints over the change. But I disagree with the complaints.
If you have a listing which has been up for a while and you have, let's say, 100 views you have no idea how old those views are.
BUT under the new system you know whether people are looking at your listing NOW. And NOW seems more important to me than "sometime in the past".
If you are not getting views then it gives you a hint that maybe the listing needs to be tweaked to make it more attractive. Maybe review whether it has the right search terms or key words or category, or, well, etc.
Something about the darkness and the candle comes to mind.

Thank you for the helpful hints, I don't list a lot so all of my listings are 7 day auction and prior view count change when auction renewed, the view count would start fresh and go up noticeably over 7 day period, now that ebay made view count change I don't see any new views on auction listed item .

now that ebay made view count change I don't see any new views on auction listed item .
My guess (and I very rarely use auctions) is that eBay can see those older views and adjusts your visibility accordingly, even though you only see views from the current auction.

Or perhaps it is just that no one has viewed those items.
I listed four items yesterday - two have double-digit views, one has single-digit views, and one has 0 views.
I take that to mean that no one has viewed one of my items yet.

Yes! I have had the same issue. The majority of items I have listed since the change have 0 views and it is very upsetting. I always get views on each item within the first day! I’m even over promoting these items as well. I hope they fix this soon because my sales r down

This view count change is nonsensical, the whole point of a view count is to give a seller the amount of interest in their item (So that they can judge it against previous and current listing views)
The new way of counting views is of no use to anybody and is not working properly, I listed an item the other day and I had more watchers then actual views! (4 watchers and 3 views) How is this in anyway helpful or correct?
The item actually sold with only 4 views showing after 24+ hours, it's obvious the item had many more views that are not showing. Ridiculous

Put me in that group that does not understand the discord around this change.
Would a sale after 75 views in 8 months be better?
Are sellers trying to see how many views they get as opposed to selling the item?
Why gripe about a sale that happened 24 hours after listing? Isn’t that the goal? Or is the goal to get lots of views over an extended period of time?
eBay has made some changes that, as a seller, are really making it difficult to keep up. Add on the shipping rates going up and buyers hanging back because of the overall economic situation, it’s not the same as it was just a few years ago.
It seems to me, changes such as managed payments where all fees are shown up front have opened up the eyes of many sellers who didn’t really know or take the time to figure out, how much it costs to sell here.
Then others, who relied on the high view counts as some mark of success.
Look at the big picture, only a handful of people are clicking to view your item each month.
If only 3 people look at your ad every month, ask yourself, why didn’t they buy it? Do something. Lower the price by a dollar, get a new main photo. Make it look like a new listing to those who have been scrolling past that same photo for the past 8 months.
If 100s of people have looked at your ad for the past 8 months and no one has purchased it, why is that a good thing?

Well for me, I'm mostly a used item seller, so every item is specific.
But look at this screenshot of an item I listed an hour ago, It's got a watcher but no views! How can you watch an item without viewing it?

I don’t know how that happens.
I don’t know why it matters, either. Watchers and viewers aren’t customers. I rarely buy anything I watch. I watch it to see how/if it sells and how I can price my item for a quick sale.

Before the new view roll out I got more views, and sold more items. All views are not bots as ebay trying to claim. If your link is on a third party site, and someone click on that ebay, ebay may consider it a bot, and block that person from viewing your item. I had 270 listings on ebay, and only 1,476 views for the month. That is 5 views for each listing. Although most of my listing shows no views for the month. Ebay is no longer a friendly site for sellers. Every other month ebay comes up with something to get another dollar out of sellers to make more profit, while most sellers makes less profit. The average seller on ebay make only $12,000 or less a year. If you looking to make more money, and sell items faster, put your listings on other sites. If not, ebay will have you frustrated. If a person ask a ebay seller should he or she should sell on ebay, the seller would most likely say no. There are better sites than ebay to sell products on. I hope ebay would get it's act together, and get rid of those on top who is bring ebay down.

I understand SOME of the benefits of the new system....but what Ebay considers Bots are not all the time bad. Just like the website Gem that gathers vintage clothing items from other websites. Why is that a bad thing? Now we won't get that traffic.

Unless you have a watcher.

This is bad real bad what ebay has done to sellers. not only have I not been getting any views, yet no sells. I am not making no money on ebay, since they put in this new view system. All the years I been selling on ebay, it has never this bad. I went from a top rated seller, to not selling basically nothing at all. I even tested a item that for two months had no views, using payed promotions, after two weeks the item still do not have any view. At this point I am paying for a ebay store for nothing. I am so happy I listen over a year ago from other ebay sellers to sell items on other site, due to they seen ebay decisions was bad for sellers. At this point, I will just list junk, broken, repair, as is items on ebay. In that way, I don't care how long it sit on ebay, (WITH NO VIEWS), nor if it sells or not.
