email

I have some software and text to sell and would like to attach it to an email in the form of a zip for the buyer.   Right now I have it offered as a DVD, but no one uses that form any longer.  I think I saw where a seller was asking for an email from a buyer so that the seller could send the buyer a key to access some information.  How does one go about doing that?

Re: email

Unless one is formally Permitted by eBay to sell such things, one does not.  Period.  If you have to ask you are not authorized, so don't even try.  It is nothing but trouble.

You are only permitted to correspond thru eBay.  Going off site and giving customers your email address can wind up getting your account suspended. It may also very well be a scam attempt.    Communicate only thru eBay messages.  Smarten' up & be safe.

So how do I get the zip folder to them?

"So how do I get the zip folder to them?"

You don't. You will be giving it away for free because every one of those "sales" will result in an INR and you will have no tracking number, which is required to prove delivery.

Re: email

Did you already try to exchange emails?  If you did what was the result of trying to exchange emails?

Re: email

I saw one that said "Zipped file sent by email. Just message your email after purchase. Get it in hours not days!!"  That looks like it breaks policy, but it's all over eBay.

Just because others are doing it doesn't make it right or unprohibited.  Those people just haven't been caught....YET.  Don't do what others do & break the rules.  Listen to the advice of seasoned long time sellers who know what they're telling you here on this forum.  They are trying to help you and you are ignoring their replies and advice.  Be smart and be careful because you can be suspended if you choose the wrong path.   Just sayin...

Re: email

Guess I'll just keep trying to sell my educational material on DVD.  But search for "file sent by email" and you will get 105 results.  Thank you for your advice.

Re: email

DVDs are increasingly obsolete.

USB Drives are an acceptable distribution medium. Costs can be quite low if the amount of storage required is low. Consider it as an alternative to DVD.
