ebay telling buyers my items will arrive in 9 days what gives??

i have 2 day handling time on all of my listings yet when i look at my listings i see that ebay is saying that if i ship to myself the items purchased today will arrive on the 13th the 15th and the 17th. if i specify 2 day handling the delivery dates to the same  zip code should all be the same. service rep just kept saying well, you have 2 day handling on all of your listings, didn't seem to get that 2 day handling doesn't mean it will take 11 days to arrive. anyone else having this problem? know how to fix it? I had to tell this girl to write a bug ticket, which i doubt she did.  as a buyer are you going to buy from someone with an estimated delivery of 11 days or some with a 4 day delivery time?? be nice if ebay could get something anything right.

No one has the same delivery times unless they are shipping from the same place at the same  time. If a seller is closer then obviously it will take less time than someone further away.
And handing time is added into estimated delivery times based on the carrier and method you choose as the distance from your buyer.
Buyers do not all see the same as what you are seeing as far a delivery times etc

And today is the 6th so the 13th is 7 days...the 15th is 9 days.

YES  all estimates are me shipping to me. should be the least amount of time. all items ship via first class so using the same zip code to ship to, same handling time, the same service, delivery dates should be the same on all listings. I have 2 day handling yet when i print my labels ebay gives me a message that item should be shipped by nov 11 to arrive on nov 13th when paid for on the 6th. something whacky the message should say by the 8th or 9th if paid for on the 6th, not nov 11. i don't get it.

yes I see mine have the same issue, I am sure is not a coincidence, I bet you if it had 1 day handling or Fast and Free they will show 2 days for delivery. I have 2 days handling time but ship next day 99% of the time. Ebay is misleading buyers so your sell suffer and you are forced to use one day handling. I can bet on it.

Another dirty trick up their sleeve, should we count them?

Re: ebay telling buyers my items will arrive in 9 days what gives??

I have the opposite problem. I have 2 day handling but usually have any item I've sold in a blue box or a post office within 12 hours. Always have, but 1 day handling bit me a couple of times on delayed scans. Yet some of my listings read, will be delivered in 3 days. But the first two days are still mine, right?

I feel like it sets me up for bad shipping dings from the buyers (my actual scans are always on time though), but so few buyers leave feedback now, I kinda stopped caring awhile ago.

I'm going to go with yes something is wrong.  My daughter and I were looking to buy a dress for two weeks from now.  When she looked at it it showed an estimate of 13th-17th.  When I looked at it a few mins later it snowed 15th-19th. I opened it a second time just a few mins after that and it showed a delivery of the 23.

Wow.  I clicked to look at the first item in your list (BIN) and it says if I paid for it right now (Wednesday 11/7) it will arrive: Estimated between Tue. Nov. 13 and Sat. Nov. 17

Sorry, I need it sooner.  (j/k)

I hope this gets fixed soon.

It looks like it is working correctly to me?

  • OP has 2 days handling
  • so a purchase today Nov. 7th means
  • they will be shipping on Friday Nov 9th
  • 10th and 11th are weekend non business days
  • 13th is correct for the soonest time frame
  • and 17th is based on the service the seller is using.

Seller who think they are gaming the system in some kind of way (not saying the OP is) but when I read about sellers saying they are going to add handling time (even though they plan to ship same day) to try to get around a late delivery rating, they are only going to hurt themselves when real buyers move on past there listing because the estimated time frame is to long for them.

Don't forget, Monday is a holiday, Veterans Day. It won't be calculated as a business day.

I buy today. You have a two day handling time. You don't have to ship until Friday the 9th.

Saturday and Sunday, the 10th and 11th don't count because it's a weekend, so no business days. Monday the 12th doesn't count because it's a holiday and not a business day.

That's Friday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and the due date,  Friday the 16th as business days.

Five days looks reasonable to me.

Oh, and it will probably get where it's going sooner, because the mail still moves on weekends and holidays even if there is no actual mail delivery.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Yea I was just using the days and dates as an example that the estimate time frame looks correct to me.

Re: ebay telling buyers my items will arrive in 9 days what gives??

Today is Wednesday November 7

With a 2 Day ship, that would mean items purchased today would ship on Friday, November 9

Day 1 - Non-Business Day - Saturday Nov 10

Day 2 - Non-Business Day - Sunday Nov 11

Day 3 - Non-Business Day - Monday Nov 12 (veterans Day Observed)

Day 4 - Business Day 1 - Tuesday Nov 13

Day 5 - Business Day 2 - Wednesday Nov 14

Day 6 - Business Day 3 - Thursday Nov 15

Re: ebay telling buyers my items will arrive in 9 days what gives??

postal workers work 7 days a week offices may not be open but your item is moving. first class mail and priority have the same est delivery time 1-3 days so buyer buys on 7th ships the 9th my package is scanned and moving thru the system saturday and sunday first class 1-3 days so it could arrive on the 12th or 13th. with holiday add an extra day. 1 day handling time is much shorter delivery date then 2 day.  to say that an item will arrive if purchased today by the 15th - 17th is absurd and i wonder why my sales are down 50?%  not to mention that many of my listings say items will arrive on the 15th some even say arrival date is the 17th. When i print a label ebay tells me to ship an item purchased today by nov 12th!!   something is screwy

Based on your own words it does not sound like eBay is the one misleading buyers?
