Did you mean:

ebay does not care.

Here we are again, all these post about ebay policy.  ebay said this, ebay did that.

Just remember ebay does not care about sellers.

It was not that long ago the the ceo of ebay told stock holder that ebay would continue to make money not by selling more on ebay but by charging sellers more to sell in ebay.

Just when the rest of sellers were forced into the worthless seller hub, and had lots of questions, ebay closed the discussion board becasue they could not deal with all the complaints from their own customers.

Next time you are upset about ebay, just remember, they don't care.

Really they charge final value fees of over 14% to collect sales tax.  No one else does that.

Exactly! My final value fees are 1/4 the price of the items I sold..it really is ridiculous.

I mean....They have to collect sales tax. State and government regulations lol

I don't know. They helped me out with some issues. Even if the phone line does not exist, I was able to contact them on Facebook and they are live savers.

In my Opinion, I would say eBay would suck if you were selling full time on here, only because of what they collect and with the 600 dollar reporting they are doing next year. (In the US)

You can always buy eBays stock.  And get rich.  If you don't want to pay any fees, Craigslist or Offerup comes to mind.  But be ready to play the 100 questions game with want to be buyers.

As far as paying 14% in fees.  Poshmark charges 20%, and they also charge for shipping.

Don't get upset.  Look for solutions.

They collect process and final value fees.  That is ebay not government regulations.

The government gives them a rebate for collect sales tax.  ebay keeps that, charges to process the sales tax and adds the sales tax to our total sale and collects final value fee on it.

I think it depends "what" you are upset with e-Bay about.  If it is the changes they have made this Spring - they do not seem like they are willing to change course - for any of us.

If you are upset about the fees - you are correct, they do not care you are upset.  The fees are what they are.  They are ways to work to mitigate the fees if you qualify, but that is everywhere and nothing new.

I will say I am surprised they did not raise the threshold for TRS to higher levels with PS program ending or at least "tier" it.  Probably to come.

OP - sorry, if you had a "specific" question or concern, I missed it.  I did glean that you are unhappy and e-Bay does not care.  Did you have a buyer issue, return, SNAD or chargeback, or just a generalized post?

Poshmark does not charge for a store subscription, or for listing an item.

Poshmark does not charge the 20% more on the sales tax they collect from buyers.

Poshmark charges buyers for shipping, and do not collect 20% from sellers for shipping.

Poshmark's 20% covers everything, not all the hidden fees.

Hands down it is cheaper to sell on Poshmark then ebay.

My post is not about ebay's competition, is about how ebay used to be a better place to sell.

I am upset that ebay allows posting IDs.

I seems as ebay is saying it is not a safe place for users to post, or they don't want readers to know who is really posting responses.

Its not safe to the normal user ID. It allows folks to attack your listings and other harassment.

Were as I use my normal ID I advise folks to use a posting id.  Oh well one of them do as I say not as I do...

Yes, for many sellers it's a continuous internal battle wondering whether to continue to sell here or not.  Seems like everyday eBay comes up with a new way to take more money from sellers.  Like my recent post about having to pay an additional "International Fee" on one of my sales to a buyer with an Illinois address!  Surprise!!

Turns out, THE SELLER has to pay extra fees when the buyer is registered outside of the USA.  Nevermind that he gave a USA shipping address.  Apparently the issue is he used "foreign currency" to make his purchase!  Well how the "H" am I supposed to know that... or be able to block or refuse to sell to someone doing that ????????????

Just another slimy, underhanded, "should be illegal" way to steal from their own sellers when they should just take the fee from the buyer!  So unethical. So unfair!

So yeah, we sellers get the shaft day after day.  I guess you just have to weigh the value of staying and putting up with it all.  When it gets to be too much for some people, those people leave. I think about it... but so far I am still strong enough to growl, show my teeth and snap back!

That is an odd thing to be upset with eBay about, considering that eBay lets anyone create more than one account, and lets anyone post to the discussion boards.

I seems as ebay is saying it is not a safe place for users to post, or they don't want readers to know who is really posting responses.

Sellers that use posting IDs for commenting are trying to insulate their business from unwanted attention related to disagreements on discussion boards. There was at least one infamous incident not too long ago where every poster in a particular thread that disagreed with one user wound up having purchases made from their selling accounts for the sole purpose of leaving malicious feedback.

lol well this is a public form and your potential buyers can see this. Besides in your other post you're talking about this other service you can use. So why tell us about it? If you want to use it then go for it I guess. Besides advertising is against form rules

I did not advertise, I clarified incorrect information that another user posted.  Happens often.

This is borderline advertising something other then ebay (and they do not like that)

My question is, if you are selling here and have such good things to say about that, why haven't you sold there?

Then you would be a fool to sell here.
