Ebay took over $100 out of my checking account without my permission and without my knowledge. This is stealing. I have sent over 20 email to Ebay asking why they stole money from me without any response. HOW CAN I FIND OUT WHY EBAY IS STEALING MONEY FROM ME?? If they can take $100 how can I be sure that they won't take $10,000 next time?

eBay has your permission to do so.
buried in there someplace .................. we have agreed to it when signing up to sell.
As to should they have taken it, or should they not have.................. I have no insight.

How much $ is in your Pending?
Maybe fees from a sold item took it because you didn't have Pending $$?
Have a return coming that you didn't complete that they had to 'force' the refund?
Shipping costs, if you don't have enough Pending and use that instead of Paypal?

I believe you are confused. Ebay never stole from you. If you sell something and a buyer wants his money back, you have no choice to give it to the person. If you did not, then YOU would be stealing from a customer. You agreed to all that in the terms when you signed up for Ebay.

So eBay took out their fees?

With your feedback number and selling history you cannot be that ignorant. You owed money somewhere along the line and eBay (with your permission ) took it. If that make a major eeek for you, put a credit card on file to cover charges that your sales are not covering.

https://www.ebay.com/sh/fin/transactions
the amount(s) will show up here as a line item and say what they may have been for.....

This is why sellers should set up a separate account for eBay from their personal bank account. Just to have a little more control of your finances. I think everyone understands what I'm saying.

"HOW CAN I FIND OUT WHY EBAY IS STEALING MONEY FROM ME??"
eBay has not stolen money from you.
You haven't given very much information. eBay will withdraw funds from you/your checking account IF they need to give a refund to one of your buyers.
Could your bank tell you anything about that $100 withdrawal?
Did that sale of a paperweight in the form of a skunk go wrong? That sale was over $100.00. Your other recent sales are all well under $100 each, most well under $10.00.
"If they can take $100 how can I be sure that they won't take $10,000 next time?"
This one seems to have a simple answer: Do not involve yourself with a $10,000 transaction.

Other sellers have report that in the not so far away history that eBay failed to deduct fees from the seller proceeds and all they did was take that money back. This maybe your situation too.

Yes definitely separate account only for eBay-etc…

You gave them permission to pull funds from your checking account when you listed the item.
When they have to pull funds from your checking account, they'll send you an email a few days before they do it, so you know about it.

You can make sure that ebay NEVER takes 10,000 dollars out of your checking account by NEVER selling a 10,000 dollar item or having 10,000 dollars in fees that ebay needs to recover. I agree with what everyone else stated. I want to add if you knew that ebay charges a fee for any listing that goes over your monthly allotment. Did you go over? Did you pay for extras like bold print or a second title. Check your bill. It will state clearly each fee that Ebay charges. You can find a breakdown of your fees in MY Ebay. You can go back a few months too. In October a glitch occurred, and many sellers were not charged fees. So ebay took their fees a month or two later. There were several posts about this but in the end, Ebay did not steal. They took their own fees.

YOU AGREED TO IT. Otherwise you would not be selling on ebay as ebay would not allow it.

Hi @pogo333
You haven't provided any information about what exactly happened. We're just member-volunteers who have no access to your account to know what you're talking about. We're happy to help if you explain ... and then ask a real question.
If eBay is actually stealing from you ... then you should be speaking to law enforcement, not us.
