ebay authenticity guarantee check missing

I have a very expensive trading card listed on my account for sale. It is the only one i see missing the authenticity check. Why is it missing? I am afraid to accept potential offers because it seems like it will not go through the authenticity process.

Re: ebay authenticity guarantee check missing

I noticed the same thing.  I have about 20 higher dollar items listed.  I have had them listed for about 2 years...I sell one about every 2 or 3 months.  For the last two years or so,  the Authenticity Guarantee was automatically showing on my listings...and I love it.  Cuts down on a lot of headaches.  On Friday I sold a card for about $600, assuming, like every other card I have sold in recent years, it would go to one of EBAY authenticity centers.  However, when I went to pring my label, it shows the buyers home street address.  I still mailed the card out, but it makes me nervous.  I went back and checked the other 20 cards I have listed, and all but 2 of them still show the Authenticity Guarantee icon.  These are all cards that I have listed for $700 or more dollars.  What happened?  Is this no longer an automatic thing.  Before it was just automatic, a seller had no choice.  I would be happy to pay for the service, just to save **bleep** customer dealings.  But, it just doesn't seem like an option...and why on some cards, but not others?

I do not know why you are not seeing  the authenticity check  maybe look here and see if anything can be applied to your listing:

  1. Item Eligibility.

Only select listings on eBay.com are eligible for the Services. eBay reserves the right at any time, in its sole discretion, with or without notice to you, to alter or amend the eligibility requirements for Eligible Items, including, but not limited to category, and/or value of items and/or transactions.

“Eligible Items” in the Trading Cards category must satisfy the following conditions:

    1. Category: Collectible Card Games, Sports Trading Cards, and Non-Sports Trading Cards
    2. Card Type: Single cards only
    3. Grading Type: Ungraded and graded cards
    4. Price: Raw cards listed or sold at auction for $250 or more, graded cards listed or sold at auctions for $250 exclusive of tax and shipping
  2. The following items are not eligible for Authenticity Guarantee:
    1. Items whose listings do not bear the Authenticity Guarantee blue checkmark badge
    2. Items listed in categories not named above
    3. Sets, lots, kits, decks, boxes, and packs of two or more cards
    4. Miscategorized items, e.g., other types of cards listed in eligible categories
    5. Graded autographed cards below $250. Ungraded autograph cards below $250.
    6. Art cards
    7. Redemption cards
    8. Additional cards that are gifted to buyers as a bonus and free of charge
    9. Items purchased using an offline payment method
    10. Listings that offer local pickup
    11. 1980's Star Company Basketball Cards
    12. Items shipped to P.O. Boxes
    13. Items shipped to or from unincorporated territories (incl. Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands)

Ineligible items will not be authenticated.

  3. Country Eligibility.

Authenticity Guarantee is available for buyers and sellers in the United States and, with some restrictions, sellers in Canada. eBay reserves the right to expand or limit the countries eligible for Authenticity Guarantee or the Services at any time, in its sole discretion, with or without notice. If your item sells abroad, you will be bound by the User Agreement and policies, including any buyer protection policies, of the site on which the item is sold and, potentially, the consumer and other laws of the country of the relevant site. You will also be responsible for eBay's standard international fees that apply to these sales. If you do not want your item to be sold to buyers internationally, you can exclude countries or regions you don't want to post to by updating your shipping settings.
