Is anyone actually liking this?

Why does everything we do on a desktop/laptop or tablet have to be like a phone screen?

If they are so keen we all use the app then maybe add the functions we have on a desktop?

They changed the regular messaging system to be like the newer Private Message system we have in the Community.

As with anything that is new, it does take a little getting use to.  But the more I use it the more I like it.  The old system left a lot to be desired too.

I  like it fine - the message thread is a lot more clear and the format is more concise.

No, I am not a fan at all.  There are two people that read and respond to messages here and sometimes it's the other person that needs to see it and respond to it so I would normally mark it as unread so it didn't get lost and was addressed.  There is no way to do that with the new format.  I don't know why they would put it into action before having the search feature and folders ready.....it says we will get them later.  Ugh.  Really not a fan.

There is no 'thread'. An incoming message is in the same format as it always was, it's only when I respond that I get the text bubble outline.

And they broke the adding a photo to a message as well.

That is interesting.  On mine I can see the messages that came before the one I'm creating above where I'm creating the new message.

There is a place on the right that says Updated Messaging System, click on that and you can leave your feedback and issues with the new format.

@just-me

Drop to the bottom of the page.  Look on your right.  "Switch Back to Classic View", click on that and see if it takes you back to the old format.

@toomuchstuffagain35  "..and they broke the adding a photo to a message as well."  I agree-tried to add 2 photos to a message I received this morning from a potential buyer and I could not post the photos. I ended up revising the listing with the additional phots instead.

Yes,  thank you. I have switched back, but I figure it's only a matter of time until it's forced and it probably still won't be complete.  And as toomuchstuffagain35 mentioned it does not support uploading photos.  blah!

I don't have that option.

Mine just reverted back to the old format on it's own, but I'm sure the bubble will be back.

That's the case with me, too - and it's clear and concise instead of a lot of scrolling, reply is easy.

You can add a photo by clicking on the little photo icon to the left of the reply window.

It sounds like you have some odd hybrid version?  eBay does tend to have various "experiences" - when I shifted over to the new message system my message threads were all in the 'bubble' format.

Yeah, this is one change that I actually like much, much better than the original.

@just-me  it is there.  When you go to type an email, the icon to the left of the bubble will allow you to attach something.
