eBay uses unfriendly politics against Sellers (high fees..) but does not improve itself. Agree?

Hello community,

eBay uses unfriendly politics against Sellers - charging high fees, rules and conditions are extremely complicated and non-transparent, you never know what final fee you will be paying at the end.  Web is so user-unfriendly for sellers that it cant be worse. Plus, eBay does not improve itself - the customer care is just terrible for a long time and they do nothing about it. They do nothing about crazy complexity of different options on their website instead of making it simple and easy. They do nothing about to unite fees for every seller (same transparent easy calculated fees for every seller) but they care about taking their high fees asap. What is your opinion? Do you agree or am I wrong? I am very upset on eBay and would switch to a different platform asap if there would be an alternative. Do you know any alternative website with a decent user base? Thank you.

I agree that eBay isn't for everyone and you should probably move elsewhere if you are this upset and have so many problems.

eBay's fees are transparent and clear, and while they're not the lowest out there, neither are they the highest, and for what eBay offers, they're very reasonable.  Sure, like most websites of this type, there are improvements that could be made that aren't, and some that are made that aren't really improvements, but of course they're never going to please everyone.  Feel free to scout around for alternatives and switch if you find one, but we are quite happy here on eBay and will continue to do our business here (as one of several options).

You'll have to do your own research on finding another site that also serves the Czech Republic - we can't do that for you.

Agree that eBay is complicated, but it's also huge.

I do not agree!

This is not to say that I like paying fees....who does?

I would be glad if eBay customer service employees would not post here. This is a question for real sellers. Thank you.

For Sellers who want to switch I can suggest Vinted. I will give it a try, eBay is just going down the hill and it cannot help itself anymore.

I will continue to sell on eBay until I can no longer drive the the post office.

I pay eBay fees; I sell things for a profit; and eBay in turn pays me very reliably.

It is a solid, consistent and predictable system.

And perhaps most important of all: eBay has protected my confidential financial information for 25 years.   I will not even consider other platforms because I do not want my credit card data shared too widely on the internet.

No eBay customer service employees have posted here yet.  They do rarely, mostly only when tagged, and have eBay in their usernames.  Accusing those who disagree with you of being employees of the company you're criticizing is not wise, assuming that's what you were really trying to say.

@langac

There have been no eBay CS employees posting on this thread.

Just because no one wants to commiserate with you, doesn't mean the answers aren’t SOP for eBay.

There are lots of options besides eBay. No one likes everything about the site they are on. Wanting lower fees is common. We all want more money for ourselves.

I am sorry but it is not a truth there are comments from the eBay CS, I am sure about it. There are accounts of eBay CS that solves the customer issues but they are hidden behind some user profile. When you check some of the profiles above you can see, they are so active that they would do nothing than solving someones problems on eBay forum for free ... which is non-sense.

If only you wouldn't be so stubbornly wrong, you might actually learn something...

fluency in the language of the Ebay site you are registered on and the site you are listing on is a requirement which goes unstated,

The fees are clear if you are reasonably intelligent AND fluent in the language.

The fees are predictable. In 26 years with this Ebay account, I have had no surprises in the fees I have been charged.

BTW no one who has posted on this thread so far works for Ebay. Ebay employees are clearly identified on the rare occasions when they post.

"eBay uses unfriendly politics against Sellers (high fees..) but does not improve itself."

Unfriendly politics?

Ebay does not exist to make friends. They are here to make money, the same reason I am.

I suggest you switch to a different platform, a platform that doesn't care about making money, just wants to make friends.
