eBay unwilling to remove negative feedback even though it was spiteful and malicious

I need some help and perhaps eBay will see this to help remove the negative mark on my account.

 

I want to first start by saying that all of my shipping is incredible. I have perfected my own way of packaging items so they cannot be damaged unless ran over by a car.

 

I sold an item and the buyer never paid for the purchase. I messaged the buyer multiple times with no response. The final message I sent explained that I would be cancelling the order. Once I cancelled the order I received a message from the buyer accusing me of not giving him more time. I apologized (not sure why I did that but I feel Customer Service is first and foremost next to my shipping practices) and offered to relist the item and waive the shipping to show good faith.

 

The buyer bought the item and was very happy.

 

I then get a message two days later that he received the box and it was crushed with a "stamp" from the Post Office stating they damaged the box.

 

He further explained that the item inside was damaged and showed pictures of the damage but never gave me a picture of the "stamp" from the Post Office. I asked the buyer to please provide a picture of the stamp so I could file a claim with the post office. 

 

The buyer immediately got upset and said that I was accusing him of damaging the item. I explained that I want to help him but I need more information and that the process is to file a claim first. I said that I would refund a portion of the money until the claim was filed but I still needed the stamp picture.

 

The buyer then said, "forget it, keep your money and I will keep the item and I will leave you some negative feedback so people can see what a horrible seller you are and that your customer service is **bleep**".

 

I have never been spoken to like this before and this is the worst experience I had ever had as a Seller.

 

I reached out to eBay and they gave me the runaround. After calling several times an eBay Customer Service Agent said they could remove the comment but not the mark on overall feedback. 

 

I did everything I was supposed to and I have been selling for over 20 years on eBay and this is how I am repaid. I hope someone can help me.

Thank you for that. That makes me feel a tad better. I will be reviewing all the policies again and I am sure I will learn a thing or two.

 

I only have myself to blame for teying to make things right but I didn't follow the correct process. I will be more diligent in the future and thank you again for your help in allowing me to see what I can do to move forward here.

Yeah, I am not sure (now) why I did that. I actually didn't even know there was an option to block a bidder. I know now. I just thought I had done something wrong. You see, when someone says mean things to me I think I did something wrong. I am not sure if this is a psychosis or what that is in me but I always try to appease people. Perhaps this was seen as insulting, not sure.

 

I am learning quite a bit from this forum and I am sad to say that I suppose I have been a pretty ignorant seller. I will do a much better job of knowing the policies.

When someone is a problem you should believe they will stay a problem and no longer deal w them.You allowed buyer to bully you ,that is not good customer service


This is a user to user board not eBay employees.

Neither of these worked. The reps just said that there was no comment so that's that.

IM SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THIS FOR YOU. WHENEVER EBAY ISNT COMLIENT WITH THINGS THAT OCCUR SUCH AS NASTY FEEDBACK, I FIND IT BENEFICIAL TO REMIND EBAY THAT THIS IS AGAINST THEIR OWN POLICIES BOTTOM LINE, AND THAT YOU ARE A SELLER WHO REPRESENTS THEM AND THIS IS AN OUT RIGHT REFLECTION OF THEM! TELL THEM THAT YOU ARE A TEAM PLAYER, AND THAT WHEN YOU MAKE A SALE, YOU REPRESENT THEM. SOMETIMES, IT MAY TAKE ANOTHER REPRESENTAIVE TO UNDERSTAND YOU. THEY SEEM TO FORGET THAT MALICHESNESS, AND BULLING, AND YOU BEING ATTACKED PERSONALLY IS AGAINST THEIR OWN POLICIES! I TRY NOT TO TAKE THESE THINGS PERSONALLY, BUT IF ALL ELSE FAILS GIVE THIS PERSON SOME FEEDBACK TOO I'M SUR YOUR FAMILIAR WITH THAT PROCESS, BUT I WOULD WRITE A SHORT LITTLE COMMENT UNDER WHERE THEY LFT FEEDBACK, AND JUST SAY SOMETHING LIKE.. I HAVE BEEN SELLING FOR 8 YEARS, AND I HAVE ENCOUNTERED SOME CRAZY STUFF.  SELLING ON EBAY IS A TRIP IF NOTHING ELSE, AND PEOPLE WILL SAY ANYTHING. I HAVE LEARNED EVERYTHING BY TRIAL AND ERROR, AND ANOTHER THING IS, AND SOMETIMES I FEEL CRAZY, BUT EBAY'S RULES DO NOT APPLY TO EVERYONE! I USE TO ASK BUYERS TO SHOW ME PICTURES OF THE ITEM, BUT NOW I HAVE LEARNED THEY DON'T HAVE TO! SO NOW, I TAKE PICTURES OF EVERY STEP I TAKE TO SHIP AN ITEM, SO I MAKE SURE THAT IF THEY THINK I SENT THEM A DAMAGED ITEM THEY CAN SEE IT IN THE BOX I SENT IT IN WITH THEIR SHIPPING LABEL SHOWING! THE WHOLE BACKING WAS TAKEN OFF, THE PAPER WAS RIPPED, AND THE GLASS WAS SHATTERED! AFTER LOOKIN AT THE PICTURES SHE SENT TO ME, IT WAS CLEAR THAT THE BACKING HAD BEEN TAKEN OFF WITH SOME KIND OF PRYING TOOL, AND THE WOOD AROUND THE FRAME HAD BEEN BADLY DISMANTELED. THIS BUYER LITERALLY JUST WANTED THE FRAME, AND NOT THE PRINT! THANK GOD THAT AFTER EBAY INVESTIGATED THE SALE, AND THEY SIDED WITH ME! I GUESS I AM JUST TRYING TO SAY IT IS A TERRIBLE THING WHEN A SALE GOES BAD, AND YOU ARE NORMAL TO FEEL THE WAY YOU DO. IT'S UPSETTING TO KNOW SOMEONE IS **bleep** AT YOU AT SOMETHING YOU REALLY LOVE TO DO, AND YOU PUT YOUR HARD WORK INTO IT EVERYDAY! ALL IT TAKES IS ONE SALE OUT OF HUNDREDS TO JUST RUIN EVERYTHING, BUT THE SECRET IS TO STAND SURE ABOUT WHAT YOU DO, AND KNOW YOU HAVE DONE EVERYTHING YOU POSSIBLY COULD TO TURN THINGS AROUND. No it is not. That was  personal feeling because..well, I know. This was the digital equivalent. So helpless when there are plenty of helping hands around. nothing gets done.
