We waited all month for a genuinely non-flawed, on time, fair duration, non-inconveniently timed, promotion.
eBay awards us with a four day, during the holiday weekend, not even good until end of the month, 500 free (get to work, you only have 96 hours), have fun working while we - and all your buyers- are all off spending time with our family and friends, don't stay up too late, sorry we couldn't deliver anything better, promotion.
What a joke.

Could sure use a promo right about now. I can get a lot done in 96 hours even though it's Memorial Day weekend.

The offering of these 500 free listings seems to always coincide with major site issues and updates. Once the site is running smoothly, they won't be offered.

Well you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I'm sure there are many out there who are very greatful to take advtange of the promotion.
You seem very stressed by ebay, sorry for that. I hope this holiday break provides you some relief. Take a load off, go to a BBQ, have a few beers and put ebay out of your mind until Tuesday!

I guess one can find something to complain about with everything if you desire to do so, but I sure could use a 500 free listing promo myself.

Also, it's worth noting that ebay doesn't have to offer any promotions at all. They are a free bonus.

well said jonathan & fernwood--I would love a little "free" anything from them right now. I opened a second account to throw some listings on since the low $$ items I sell do not warrant listing fees.
Hope everyone has a safe & restful weekend.

I have a bunch of listings ready to go, but unfortunatly I am not willing to chance my money of foolish/nonsensical wording.
Sellers that have been invited to participate will automatically receive the Promotion after they activate the Promotion from the invitation email or the Promotion landing page, and then create Qualifying Listings on the US site at www.ebay.com or eBay Motors at www.ebay.com/motors (no longer exists when attempt)(Parts & Accessories and Automotive Tools & Supplies only) through the Sell Your Item form, eBay Seller Tools, eBay Mobile applications, and most third-party tools. Any listings created prior to the time of activation will not be eligible for the Promotion. For sellers listing with any tool other than the latest version of the Sell Your Item form (SYI 3.0), the Promotional Rate may not be shown during the listing process. Instead, the discount will be reflected in the "Seller Account” section in My eBay, under the Account tab, as well as in your next invoice.

I totally understand where you are coming from. I only received a 100 for a nickle listings but am OK with that - here I am on vacation trying to use up my store subscription listings so that I can take advantage of the offer I did receive.
The weather is nice, people are celebrating with families and yes - few eill be online this weekend shopping with Ebay or listing for that matter - so it props up Ebay's site count to have sellers logging in to take advantage of the offers they did receive.
I'm not anti Ebay nor am I pro Ebay - it's a venue to sell on = no more no less. The sentiment here is like politics and neither side sees that everything Ebay does is for a reason and most often not in a seller's or buyer's best interesat but in Ebay's best interest.

Its like IT sits and spends time trying to come up with things that make no sense. In the past it has been no problem to remove the "fee" at the time of the listing rather than on a future invoice.
The fee is removed for other eligible categories. Why not for eBay . com , motors, parts & accesories?
When it remains on the invoice without a credit, what are the odds that a CSR will say...... we do not see that the charge would be credited........ we have no record of that...... maybe you did not qualify for that promotion..... click

Interesting perspective. It would prop up numbers if there is a general lack of users during the holiday weekend.
Hopefully some sellers will see some profit from those who might log in and shop for awhile since they may have extra time off. We can only hope.
