I see a lot of threads about how bad Cassini is or isn't for searching eBay
Last night I listed two unusual items
A Rotor for Ingersoll Rand 1" Impact Wrench and a pair of hammers for the same wrench
These are just parts but I priced them to sell
They sold 8 hours after listing them!
My buyer seemed to have no problem finding these in the eBay hay stack of air tool parts. . .

So what's the difference between the people allegedly being throttled, and the people who arent?

SALES!
If you have something someone wants at a price they can't refuse you can consider it SOLD
The set of Hammers can be found on Google for $250, I let the set go for $50, I paid $5 for them.
Everyone WINS on eBay. . .

Right, but if one of the "throttled" sellers listed them, supposedly no one would have found them, or eBay would have somehow prevented everyone from buying them, at least until the throttling period reset. Maybe you hadn't hit your limit yet. 😉

Glad it's working for you. However I have had issues where a simple search does not bring up items with the exact same words in the title. I've had repeated issues where Ebay changes my category from ALL to a specific category. There are definitely issues with Can't See Me.
This has nothing to do with throttling. lol

Glad your buyers were able to find what they were looking for and you got the sales! Obviously, Cassini DID pop your listings up for those buyers, who obviously used search words that meshed with your listing titles. AND, you said you priced them to SELL, and that's a huge factor in making sales on eBay nowdays in regard to a ton of stuff here.
The problem with Cassini is that is shows OR DOESN'T SHOW listings so tightly depending on the search words entered in comparison with the title words the seller used in his listing, so when buyers search here, they may or may NOT actually be shown what (all) is for sale. For some stuff, that doesn't actually matter... it's all pretty much the same, but for other items it can make all the difference in the world in what the buyer purchases, or WHETHER THE BUYER MAKES A PURCHASE AT ALL.
I've absolutely used Cassini search and then pulled up Google Images for what I was looking for... found items on The Google that were eBay listings and active... that my various search words hadn't brought up for me on my eBay search. I only know so many search words to use. After that, I'm lost. But Google seems to be able to find more interesting things for me that Cassini didn't in its direct search, so I'm not sold 100% on Cassini for the members. I think eBay is fine with it as long as it shows buyers something, since often enough they will just buy from what they're shown. Ebay doesn't lose out, but it may be that the rest of us lost out on AT LEAST being considered by that buyer.

the throttled sellers who know it from their own experiences aren't drinking the ebay Koolaid
but of course you're taking this thread totally off topic

It's perfectly on topic. Throttling would be accomplished by not displaying a seller's items, i.e. via Cassini's output; eBay wouldn't show them and then disable the "Buy It Now" or "Place Bid" buttons, or the bidding forums would be full of complaints.

Maybe he had a search already set up for them. I'm sure that a saved search(I refuse to use the word 'followed') does NOT use casino.

Well the forums have been full of complaints about throttling going on for years now so not sure what your point is.
You obviously want to debate me on this subject to push the agenda that ebay is fair and equitable and that sellers are responsible solely for their own success or failures here.
Based on my experiences and those of many other sellers on eBay, it's not a level playing field and no amount of Pom Pom shaking will alleviate that perception.

Yeah, but you could have listed them for $300, not sold them, and then claim you were being throttled!

And that's all it is: a perception. All it does is enable sellers to blame "the system" instead of addressing their inadequate business plans and overpriced merchandise.

Or enables sellers to recognize the obvious and diversify their business into other platforms where their success is not blocked.
