It seems that eBay is doing this to encourage more sales. For at least the past three days, rather than staying on the same listing and just replacing the Add to Cart button after it is pushed with the View in Cart button, eBay is now putting up a different listing for a similar item instead.
So if you don't want to buy the suggested item, you now have to find another way to get directly to the cart for checkout and to pay, as originally intended.
