eBay is treating sellers unfairly. I sold a phone, and sent it out in perfect condition. The seller claims it isn't working properly. Did not contact me again for 2 weeks, then says the headphones are not working. They are brand new! Then they claim the battery is not lasting. This phone is three years old. I am not a warranty center. I sent it out in good faith. I would never knowingly send a non working item out to anyone. Period! I had no returns, but eBay insisted I accept the return, pay for their return shipping, (I charged the seller $8.00, and I paid $ 17.00 to ship it to them,) and give them their money back. Wow, I get a non working phone back, and have to give them their money back. Why even have a no return policy if you will not stand behind it? How fair is this? They need to implement new rules to protect sellers. I am beyond angry, and will never sell anything again. I have 100% feedback, and have been with you since 2002. This is how you treat long time members. Not good!!

I agree! I just learned today that a buyer can just LIE in their feedback and there is nothing that can be done. I had 100% feedback and have also been a member since (I'm guessing) about 2002 as well. I am going to cancel my ebay account (as soon as I can). Definitely not selling OR buying anything on here again.

I meant the buyer claims it isn't working properly. And, I charged the buyer, not the seller $8.00 to ship it to them.

"Why even have a no return policy if you will not stand behind it?"
Ebay's no-returns policy doesn't apply to not as described claims.
"Even if you specify "no returns accepted", under the eBay Money Back Guarantee the buyer can still return an item if it doesn't match the listing description."

When you state 'no returns' that means no remorse returns, such as the buyer changed his mind, etc. It doesnt mean no refunds for item not as described, or broken.

One reason why I never even consider selling a used phone on Ebay is because of this problem. Last time I sold one the buyer bought the phone I sold and a blackberry the same day. Back in those days there was less secrecy . After about ten days I had to refund the price paid plus shipping liars. Why should you even waste time with this type of device when this can happen. The other problem is that each phone uses only the cell towers of one of the baby bells ATT SPRINT/TMOBIL or VERIZON. Here in my area Verizon is very good but ATT has poor service and the others have no service. You must know whose towers are in your area or you will get to let the buyer try your phone and then have to lose money to phone does not work.

Take a peek at today's Weekly Chat thread. There is some great conversation there on this very subject.

If you got the phone back and it is the same one you sent, then you are in the best shape you can be. Be thankful for that and make sure eBay' s processes and MBG are understood fully before selling more items.

@erdoccruising
If it's the phone I'm looking at, you say in the listing:
"It is in excellent condition. There are a few tiny (pin size dots) on the screen that shows when the screen is off."
Doesn't sound like it's in excellent condition.
Buyer says:
"says the headphones are not working."
"claim the battery is not lasting."
Listing says:
"It comes with the box, the earphones (never used), the charging block, and the charging cord. They were never used either."
If you didn't test them, how do you know they worked right?
There is a reason for the MBG and the buyer used it.

Actually, it was in excellent condition. I clearly noted everything that I saw what was wrong with it. The tiny dots were very tiny. My husband, and son saw the phone, and said they didn't even see them, but I choose to list every little thing that I see. But thank you so much for pointing that out. I get it.
Well, gee, if something is new, I would hate to open them up, but noted.
Thanks again so much for your suggestions.

I never had a problem with a buyer before. I guess I was pretty lucky. You are absolutely right. I will never sell another used phone again. They are not worth it.

I am very sorry if anyone was offended by the post that I made about the way eBay treats the sellers. I guess it was in the heat of the moment. I have never had a return. A lot of you have given very good suggestions, and your knowledge from past experiences. I appreciate all of the replies.
Thank you all for your help.
