I just received this message from eBay on my other account. Some items I sold about 2 months ago and have since been delivered.
Items were shipped to the address on Paypal file, good feedback left (from whom I assumed was the buyer). But then this message today. Should I be worried about anything? We are not talking about a small amount here. I find it odd that 2 months after I would get this message. (In my eBay messages)

You should be just fine. I've had this happen a few times over the years. Nothing ever came of any of it. This is not likely to impact you at all.

Hi! Please include the message in question. Thanks!

I removed a few pieces that are not relevant.
We had to cancel bids and purchases on the following item (goes on to list the items in question and the buyers name.)
Please note that we're working with the account owner to prevent any additional unauthorized activity.
All associated fees have been credited to your account. In these situations, we'll credit the final value fee for removed listings won by this buyer, and also the insertion fee if it was a single-quantity listing.
- We have credited all associated fees except for the final value fee for your listing(s).
We’ve also made it easy to relist your item if it was removed. Although the item is no longer available in search listings, you will find it in the “Sold” section of My eBay. For more information, please visit:
--Selling tip--
To help you avoid this situation in the future, consider setting a Buy It Now price and requiring buyers to make an immediate payment. For more information on immediate payments, visit:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/pay/require-immediate-payment.html
We also recommend you take the following actions if this buyer won the item:
- If you haven't received payment, don't complete the sale or send the item to the buyer.
- Don't communicate with the buyer directly.
- Verify any payments you've been notified of by logging in to your payment account (or other online payment service).
- If the buyer requests refunds or additional payments, don't send any money without contacting eBay first.
- If you've already sent the item, try contacting the shipping carrier to find out if you can stop shipment.

But then this message today.
Was there a date or any kind of time stamp on that message? I have heard of those communications arriving after the fact, but NEVER two months after the fact.

Got the identical message from eBay for an item delivered on March 3.
Apparently it took the account owner 3 months to discover their account had been hijacked and the rascal bought a $5.29 item from me.

I too had something similar after the buyer had paid and I had shipped and it was received. He left glowing feedback.
I think sometimes the bots go wacky. I'm not sure anyone even follows up on these erroneous messages. All I know is he bought and paid. He's happy...I'm happy.

It was dated June 15th. Very strange. Freaked me out, since I sold those items back in March. Over 200.00 worth for three of them.
I won't worry about it for now, I guess, unless money gets frozen or taken from my account for some reason.

I had a credit card become compromised before, and it takes a while for the company and user to sort out which purchases were legit-so any made within a time frame are frozen until it gets figured out.
