In case you didn't see it...
I'm really sad to see the guides go. I had a lot of them published. They are also taking away customizable stores soon, so creating custom pages in your store (yes, I considered that) will not work either.

I still regularly use my 1980s paperback guide, my 1990s comic book guides and my variety of old LP record guides, even though the prices are ridiculously out-of-date. But I use them particularly for establishing dates, researching variations, investigating cover and interior artists, discovering pseudonyms, etc -- so I feel that, although severely out-of-date, the guides still have value; and, thus, may have value to other researchers as well.
But I guess I won't be listing them anytime soon, since eBay can't see the forest for the trees. That's why I pick up old price guide books every chance I get. The price info may be outdated, but the information about the items themselves is always the same. And you can depend on it being correct. If you need the recent selling price - that's when i check ebay.
AND while a book takes up some space, the information will always be there when you need/want it.
This is why I will not use ebay's seller hub. One day it's the way you list and store your listings and next week, all your stored listings will be gone because ebay came up with a 'better' idea.
Lol, I have Red Books (coin price guides) from the 80s that I picked up for $.25 at a yard sale. It beats paying $15 for a new one, especially since most coins worth anything to look for are before the 2000s, imo.

The Standard Catalog for World coins is over $50, one for each century! I use my old one because it covers 1800's up through 1990. I have newer versions of some, on PDF, but it takes me longer to find a coin in that thing than it does the paper catalog.

Is there more to this quote and can you link to it or show the source?
I find it strange, or maybe not, that on ebay's page of guides, there is no communication from ebay about this. I would think that their guide page is where they would be giving this warning. Instead it gives instructions on how to create a guide.

Well, dang. I just wrote one last month for the first time. That was a wasted effort. Geesh.

I just got a message in my emails and eBay inbox. It looks like others have too. That is the whole message (with my name cut out ).

Thank you vintage! I wonder why ebay doesn't put a notice on their "create a guide" Buyers Guide page?

The loss of any Guides you wrote will be a loss indeed.

Any condition based guides will never really go out of date.

You should move your guides to your website or something so that everyone can still read and see them. Many were very interresting and helped me a lot!

Thanks for sharing...I see that I will probably never get an answer then.
