eBay is blocking payouts need advice

Hello my son and I buy pallets and resell the items that we find In them. We recently bought a pallet of clippers and thought it was a great investment. So we have been selling them no problem and all of a sudden we have been asked for information like my  bank account information, id, as well as receipts for the items! I have since sent in everything they have asked for and still my account is restricted I’m not sure what to do. I have 100% feedback and I haven’t had any issues whatsoever. When I sent the stuff in they said “Unfortunately, after reviewing the submitted documentation we noticed that it was either incomplete or illegible.” I’ve called in every time I have been told by agents everything looks good to the they are going to escalate to a higher up and it will be taken care of within 72 hour. I always give two days of leeway in between calling but it has been 15 days since I’ve called in the first time and about a month of being blocked. I have $3150 dollars just sitting in the account I need some help please!

@superpalletfinds ,

I don't think anyone is accusing you of being a thief or criminal. We are just pointing out why eBay is required by the Inform Act to verify sellers aren't selling stolen or counterfeit goods. Here is some verbiage about the Inform Act from the FTC website.

The goal of the INFORM Consumers Act is to add more transparency to online transactions and to deter criminals from acquiring stolen, counterfeit, or unsafe items and selling them through those marketplaces.

For years eBay and other online market places have been fighting the passing of legislation like the Inform Act claiming they were already doing enough to deter the fencing of stolen and counterfeit goods. I'm sure ebay is spending millions of dollars a year to comply with the Inform Act and would rather spend the money on dividends to shareholders.

Here are some examples of sellers that got caught. This is just a tiny sample.

https://www.ecommercebytes.com/2022/01/20/ebay-seller-pleaded-guilty-to-selling-3-2-million-in-stole...

I don't know why eBay would want to railroad you when they make money only if you sell things. I'm sure eBay would rather not have to band sellers unless they were up to no good. The Inform Act requires eBay to police their site or face steep penalties. EBay is just following the law.

If you don't agree with the legislation I would suggest you reach out Senators Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) the authors and sponsors of the Inform Act.

 I just think its a case of eBay following the Inform Act laws and doing what is now expected of them

Ebay has had a rule for many years that pertains to New Seller and sellers that have been away from selling for 90+ days. The following is the policy that outlines why you money is likely on hold.

Why?  Using stock photos is not against the Ebay rules.  Where do you think Ebay got many of theirs in the Catelog?  Bots aren't looking for stock photos.

Back when I was selling fragrances I had a couple Vero violations for pics.  One I remember so well was for Invictus.  It was silly, I proved that my pic was not one of theirs.  There were many differences, but they said close enough [ignorant remark, but that is what they said] and Ebay would not help of course.
