WHY bother listing anything for sale on eBay.
I was just forced to take a return on a $100.00 item that the buyer wasn't sure if he damaged or the was damaged by the postal service in shipping.
eBay's refund policy states you can deduct up to 50%. That is a COMPLETE LIE.
You are FORCED to take a return, pay for THE RETURN SHIPPING, AND THEN GET STUCK WITH A DAMAGED ITEM. WITH NO RECOURSE.
NO ONE answers the phone at eBay and does NOTHING to handle billing problems. THEY CAN'T BE BOTHERED ANYMORE.
I've been buying and selling for eBay for 22 years AND NOW ALL DO IS CATER THE BUYER no matter wrong they are.

Well, first, to be eligible for the 50% reduction in refunds, you must offer 30-day returns and be Top Rated. Or offer Free Returns.
Second, you have been here a long time, long enough to know how the Money Back Guarantee works, but this seemingly has taken you by surprise.
When a buyer opens a case, it is a virtually automatic win. Sellers must refund in full and pay return shipping if they want their item back. You can appeal the decision to eBay, see link below on the how-to’s. Good luck.

How is the buyer not sure who damaged it? If it was insured, this would make kind of a huge difference.
And yes, I agree, the rules are crazy. And I completely understand the anger, because I have been there more than a couple times. Paying to get it back and then refunding them too just adds insult to injury.
Great Moms turn them off first.

Yep... it's pretty 'buyer-centric' here. The only recommendation I'd make is that you revisit your Returns Policy.
The (up to) 50% deduction for a damaged return is one of the last seller protections left... I'd use it, if I were you.

The 50% option comes up for me because I offer 30 day returns and Top Rated.
"You are FORCED to take a return, pay for THE RETURN SHIPPING, AND THEN GET STUCK WITH A DAMAGED ITEM. WITH NO RECOURSE."
Yep, that can happen and pretty much spells it out for the sites I sell on.

Has this happened to anyone else selling on eBay? i have over 20 years as a seller, with 5 Star detailed seller ratings across the board + 99.5% Positive feedback. Is eBay targeting sellers to be able to charge higher fees & maximize their profits. are Sellers being victimized? this is unbelievable! Who exactly does these "evaluations" ? Both sales that caused this level drop were sellers who filed returns & then never returned items. it seems eBay cares NOTHING about sellers, unless they are big enough to "matter". Small business will have no place here on eBay soon. very sad.. anyone have similar experience??

I keep an eye on my seller metrics. They are automated, reviews are completed by bot. They count every INAD return as a "ding" against the seller metric percentage. I don't think they are reviewable by eBay CS. I think I did see a botton once that implied a seller could appeal within the seller metrics, somewhere.
I actually did inquire once thru eBay social media about getting a couple removed because the buyer never returned the item and the case just timed out. That was a no-go with the social media reps.

eBay's refund policy states you can deduct up to 50% only if you meet certain conditions.
You must be a Top Rated Seller in the USA or Canada; you must offer 30 day or longer returns; the item must be listed on eBay.com; and eBay must not have been asked to step in and help.
Did you meet all those conditions?

What $100 item are you referring to as I do not see anything recent for that amount in your sold(s)?
Your Fb page shows you as a Top-Rated Seller, but the listings I viewed stated "no returns". This is problematic as while you are rated TRS, you are forfeiting benefits afford to a TRS Seller by not offering a "return" policy that meets the criteria. (Having "no" return policy is indeed "a" return policy).
Have been there - when a Buyer files a SNAD, there is nothing you can really do. E-Bay expects you as a Seller to honor the return and refund the Buyer in full.
Would recommend you BBL this Buyer and if you truly think the Buyer abused the return process, Report the Buyer from the "transaction order view", drop-down menu.
Sorry this is where you are today with this order. Better sales await us all - just hard to see/remember some days. Good luck - all the best.

I was to SELL this stuff not admire it for the next 10 years. No returns. But that's another eBay joke like reduced shipping and eBay customer service.

That's it. $$$$$. Your viewing traffic will go down because you not paying extra for "Promote Your Listing" So eBay will take the listing, but it won't show up on a search unless the types it exactly, word for word.

No returns is OK: you tell em to keep it and refund them is all that means when a case is open...
In other words NO returns: does not equal no refunds.....
