Newer to selling here, have made about 3-4 sales now but haven't had any issues. I sold a pair last week & shipped the next day, have been waiting on Authentication but earlier I got the noti that they didn't pass, smh. The shoes are Authentic, but they claim I didn't include the smoke odor in the description, which I did. Even the seller messaged me & said they didn't understand cause they already knew about the odor since I had mentioned it, I always do just to be upfront about it. I guess the Authenticators just took a quick glance & sniff & didn't take the time to read description. I have to drive 40 minutes to drop off a package at FedEx, but they're sending my return thru USPS, lol. I'm not even sure how it works, I'm just hoping they safely return my pair. Seller still wants the shoes, so I guess we're just gonna have to try again & make it more obvious in the title & description that they have a smoke odor. Just a headache having to deal w/ this when there's NO reason the pair should've been failed. I guess they'll update me when they ship out my return? I see the tracking number, but haven't seen much else

I would guess it is the Condition section -
Next time list as Pre Owned and put "may smell of smoke" in there.
They may be picky and even though it is in the description want it in the Condition section too.

Your description says "Shoes do come from a smoking household".
Your description does not say that the shoes smell like smoke.
The authenticator is correct in failing these.
In your new listing for these shoes, & any others you sell, put "These shoes reek of cigarette smoke".

Gotcha, I'll look for that. I'm gonna put it in the title as well. I only seen an option to select "pre owned" I didn't see anywhere else to include the flaw other than the description which is where I thought it went. I've sold a couple others just the same, but no issue. I'm definetely gonna look for that though when I relist. Thanks!

I just seen what you're talking about. There is an option, but it didn't show on the app on my phone, that's how I listed the shoes. It only shows on Desktop, so I went ahead & fixed the listing & saved it in Drafts for next time. Thank you, you may have just helped me big time!

Gotcha. Yeah, I didn't know that was an issue. That's what I put in all listings but none had ever failed. The buyer knew there was an odor from reading the listing so I figured it was all good. Appreciate the help!

Long ago, they advised that any flaws should be noted in "condition description"....... but clicking on the i next to preowned brings up this:
which looks like it's telling a seller to note imperfections in descriptions........

Is it possible to use the Customized box in the details section (may have smoke smell) that will bypass the Authenticator and sell them as USED/Preowned as @klhmdg suggests? Your buyer already does not they passed and may be ok with you listing it without going through the authenticator. Just a thought.

If you fill in the blue box it will appear under seller notes in the item specifics section.

I may mention that & see if he's okay with it. He was wondering if there was another way to do it since they're legit so we wouldn't have to go thru the whole process again, he asked if I done PayPal invoices but I haven't ever done that before. I'm gonna relist on Desktop though, on there I can add information to the pre owned section, but I couldnt on Mobile App so I didn't even know I missed it. Never had to do that before as long as I mentioned it in the description. I appreciate all y'all helping though, I've definetely learned a thing or two.

I think using a PayPal invoice would be an attempt to sell off of eBay and get you banned from selling.
