- eBay for Business Facebook page going away - being rolled in to the regular eBay Facebook page in August. Update your bookmarks and saved links.

- eBay for Sellers on Insta remaining seller-only channel.

eBay Open 2024 dates announced: Sept 25-26

Registration begins Aug 1

Payments:

AmEx going away Aug 17 due to high fees. Applies to both buyers and sellers.

More payments news coming this month. No hints were given.

Buy It Now button has been added to M2M messages - not sure if in new format on web or if it's app exclusive. Screenshot shared was from the app.

Feedback:

Andrea Stairs provided an update on the hot topic of feedback. She said when they made recent changes they discovered there were gaps in policies that caused FB removal rejection where sellers should have been protected. They are implementing a dozen policy updates right now and actively taking in seller comments and looking for more use cases for future updates.

One specific example of the dozen forthcoming updates was provided:
eBay will be removing FB when seller denies a buyer's order cancellation request.

eBay confirmed the help and policy pages are in process of being updated.

eBay partnered with Alicia Silverstone, ran several live streams.

Sent out a recommerce survey in which 16k buyers participated. Market is still growing.

77% say it's more common for them to purchase preowned.

5 reasons buyers gave on why they buy preowned - save money, can't find new, affordable compared to new, unique/collectible, sustainability/environmental benefits. 43% says it makes them feel like better person to buy preowned.

Listings with fitment sell better and have substantially fewer returns.
Subscription plan was ditched for free fitment plus plan to make available to everyone.

I strongly encourage everybody to watch their networking session when the video makes it to YouTube, hopefully this week. You need to view the changes for yourself. I did take screenshots but I don't know if I can post them here since they were previews? If someone really wants to see them - tag one of the eBay team and ask if I can post otherwise you can wait for the youtube upload.

Thanks!  I didn't get a chance to watch it yet, so this is very helpful!

I wonder if they're going to adjust the policy about removing feedback when the seller accepts a cancellation request, too.  Hopefully.  That's been a point of contention on the boards recently, even though I haven't dealt with it personally.

Apparently eBay is no longer posting videos on the eBay For Business YouTube page - they were all posted to the eBay YouTube page. Is the eBay for Biz YouTube page still being used or is it being retired devon@ebay ? The only thing mentioned at the seller check in was the Facebook page, not the YouTube page.

Thanks, Silver. eBay put together a recap found in the Announcements today. They mention stuff I left out (stuff we already knew about). I tried to highlight some of the detail points.

Updating - we did get more payments news since the seller check in. So far 2 news points:

1. eBay added Venmo as a payment option, although I'm not sure it's site-wide yet. Might be a phased rollout. (link)

2. eBay is changing the fee structure for Express Payouts to a flat $2.00 (instead of the current $0.25 - $15.00 scale). The feature will be more expensive for express payouts under $134, and less expensive for express payouts over $134.

Hey @wastingtime101! The eBay for Business YouTube channel is still being used and I can see when it is planned to have the videos posted from Summer Seller Check-In!

Hi devon@ebay. That was the point of my question. Since the videos were posted to the eBay page, not the eBay for Biz page, I was wondering if the eBay for Biz channel is being retired or if the videos were maybe  posted to the wrong youtube page.
