Fedwrecks did it again

I shipped a 50# roll of communication wire with fedex without putting it in a box, they sent me an upcharge of 31.00, I never ship with these guys but it was 18.00 cheaper than UPS, this is my last shipment with these crooks, Does anyone know if UPS has an upcharge on items shipped with no box?

UPS upcharges for everything - even a slightly irregular box. I'm pretty sure they're going to upcharge for unboxed irregulars.

Your are kinda stuck with those two and is exactly why I will not use either of them unless I have no other choice...

@lucedale_sales

Delivery/after-the-fact surcharges (not accounted for with eBay label purchasing) abound with both FedEx and UPS.

Have seen the list of some possibilities posted here on the boards.

Not sure if it is possible to google a complete list.

I have seen this before on my personal selling account (we don't use Fedex or UPS for our business, but we're shipping mostly books which are very economical via USPS Media Mail, otherwise I'm sure we'd be at least considering branching out).  I've heard they don't do the upcharges if you purchase through a service like Pirate Ship or Stamps.com.  Might be worth looking into!
