Re: eBay Said

Following ebay's recommendations is nice. However, are you listing what the e-commerce buyers of today want or need to warrant consistent sales? 🙏😎✌️ That is what all seller's must ask themselves!!! Ebay can only help you to a certain degree.

Good luck!

Re: eBay Said

Calculate the cost of doing each activity.

For each of those things, stop doing them, measure revenue for 1-3 months, then start again. Individually.

When each activity has results for your business calculate cost/reward ratios.

Stop doing high-cost low reward activities.

I am told this is what most businesses do regularly to manage changing markets.

It works for new ideas that eBay may not even think of.

A statistician can recommend how long to test for a minimum relevant sample size.

We used to test things like 'red vs green' add to cart buttons and about 1000 samples was usually enough to determine a winner.

Some activities can have interactions that require tests to explore different combinations of activities.

No sarcasm intended.

They might want it, but don't have the money for it now.

Have a great day.

Re: eBay Said

A lot of what you sell is offered in stores. Plus you have competition such as Amazon with free shipping.

Can you shows exactly where eBay said that YOUR sales would increase if YOU did something?

OI can recall plenty of places where eBay has given statistical information about what happens to the average seller, but I've seen them promise a specific increase for a specific seller.

Re: eBay Said

Some of that might help a bit. However, most buyers search for the item that want and if it's priced to their liking, buy it.   I never made any buying decision based on how well the listing was written or looked.  Now I suppose high end items like an 12,000 watch would be helped by lot's of good photos.

Re: eBay Said

Wow!  I've never seen the list of "...Your items will sell faster if..." before.  It's longer than I thought!   Thanks for the eye-opener.  Again, Wow.

I think you forgot their favourite:

If you lower your price, your item will sell.

"If it sold FAST, it was priced too low" - also Reese Palley

Somewhere in there, did they use the word "guarantee"?

Re: eBay Said

Yes, there are a seemingly endless number of steps in fine tuning a successful store. Not all suggestions from others are applicable to all stores though. So, just because someone suggests something, this does not mean we should do it - we should test changes to see if they help us (as noted by chris13).

Although you did not ask for suggestions, I'll give one to you anyway (and, yes, ignore it if you feel it does not apply to you). In my opinion, your photos are almost all very beige. The backgrounds and low light levels make the items for sale to be not eye-catching. None of the colors or shapes of your listings pop out of the screen at me. While a photo will not make me buy something, it sure will influence whether my eye pauses on a listing. I hope this helps.
