Hi everyone,
I’m a seller from Brazil and I’ve been having serious problems with eBay not recognizing when my items are posted.
I ship everything on time using Correios (our national postal service), and I always get a valid receipt showing that the package was posted. This same info appears on the official Correios website. But eBay keeps saying “You need to ship this item,” and I get late shipment defects even though I already handed the package to the post office.
It seems that eBay only recognizes and register as label creation, not the actual Item Posted scan; but the message says Item posted. Official tracking only activates after the item is physically handed to Correios, and Ebay is reading it — which makes sense. I honestly don’t know if any postal system in the world would generate real tracking for a package that hasn’t been accepted.
I’ve tried contacting support multiple times, but I only receive AI automated replies. No one is reviewing the actual scan or checking the tracking. My email box is filled with auto responses, appeals rejects , and now the number of defects on my account is growing — even though I am doing everything right.
This is hurting my business and preventing me from running my auctions. I don’t know what else to do.
I’m attaching an image that shows my postage receipt and how eBay still shows it as not shipped; the info at official website and other things. Just send the image to support , don't know how auto messages will deal with an image.
If anyone has ideas or knows if someone at eBay actually reads posts here, please let me know. I really need help.
Thanks, André.

The RR prefix means Registered Mail.
AHA!
Registered Mail works fine domestically, although this old fashioned* service has been replaced by barcoded/faster tracked services.
One reason is that Registered Mail (at least in Canada) cannot be priced higher than Parliament allows. This is also true of the first level of Letter Post. Other countries may well vary in this.

I think that Registered Mail comes under Section 3.7 which doesn't even mention Registration but does talk about EMS.
But I got tired and confused.
*It was originally called Money Letter and predates postage stamps!

Two things.
Tracking is important for Top Rated Seller status, which does have a few perks.
But as a non-US seller (like me) you are eligible for Global TRS which has slightly different standards including less emphasis on tracking.
AND
Tracking, or more exactly Proof of Delivery, is needed if you have an Item Not Received claim opened against you.
Otherwise it does not mean faster, gentler or even more secure handling.
So, why is this a problem for you?
In any case, have you compared costs on the (effectively untracked) Registered Mail you have been using and any other Tracked service available to you?

This is not a problem for me — I actually pay an extra fee to add the barcode, and eBay does register it properly. That’s why I have 100% verified tracking numbers uploaded on time. Ebay just interpreting posting date wrong.
The issue is that eBay is interpreting the “Item Posted” message as “Label Created” instead of recognizing it as “Item Posted.”
The tracking is working — it’s pulling the correct data, it sees “Item Posted”, but applies the wrong internal label: “Label Created.”
If eBay would just take the correct “Item Posted” scan and assign it the “Item Posted” status, everything else in the tracking would be accurate.
I have proof of delivery provided by eBay itself, automatically generated through the tracking number I submit.
However, I still receive a late shipment defect, because eBay is using the wrong posting date.
The correct “Item Posted” date is being read by the system, but it's being registered as “Label Created”, which is not accurate.
I'm sorry if my English isn’t perfect — it’s my second language — but this seems so simple to identify that it’s honestly frustrating not being able to speak with a real support agent.
Changed all may handling to 10 days now. Was preparing to make 1 day handling but is impossible at the moment due this issue.
cheers!! André
this is from a delivered package today. Tracking works perfectly except for the shipping date. When item is posted seams it was shipped. Doesn't means the label was created

You can mark the item as shipped even before you buy the label and add the tracking number later.
But what harm is coming to you when the tracking shows on time delivery?

The issue is that in some cases, the item is marked as delivered late — even though it was shipped on time and delivered on time — simply because eBay did not register the correct posting date.
So yes, the tracking shows delivery, but the posting date is misread (eBay treats “Item Posted” as “Label Created”), which causes a late shipment defect on my account. That’s the real problem.
I really appreciate your time and input — thanks again! 😊

@artealterada use this tracking service, it seems to be the best for more complete info on international pkgs>
this is what it shows for the one tracking number on your post>

Also, you can
Contact eBay via their social media sites with a private message:

Great customer service on all three
Even if u don't do social media, u can just open an account for eBay purposes only
Hope it all works out for you

Yes, I have Instagram! 😊
Nice tip — I’ll give it a try and let you know how it goes.
Internally, I use another tool to track my packages and it shows all the steps clearly, just like ParcelsApp.
I’ve already changed all my handling times, but I’m still a bit worried — the packages already in transit might be enough to damage my reputation.
Cheers, and thanks for your help! André

eBay has already verified the tracking number, and it appears as POSTED
However, eBay is still asking me to ship the item by July 9, incorrectly showing that only the label was created.
The paper receipt confirms the exact date and time the item was handed to the post office, and it matches the timestamp that appears in eBay's own tracking info.
Despite this, eBay is treating the item as "shipped" only days after it was actually posted.
