eBay Math

Can anyone explain eBay math to me?

I have sold 3 items

Items #1 & #2 have the payout listed as $78.19, and $72.76, for a total of $ 150.95, but the amount eBay sent to me is only $125.97.

Item #3 has the payout listed as $68.10, which is the amount that seems to be sending to my bank, but I haven't gotten it yet.

I don't get it.

From the seller hub click on payments. You will see what is happening as payments head to your bank. Under recent activity click on the ">" symbol to get details for the totals listed.

The amounts in black are what you are getting from eBay (sold amount after eBay fee), the amounts in red are what you owe eBay (Ad Fee, Store Charge, Shipping if you choose to use available funds).

Depending on your payout dates, your funds accumulate for payout.

You should see the 78.19 and the 72.76 there for a total of 150.95. Depending on sold dates and payout dates, those amounts could be sent at the same or different times to your bank. Also, any Ad Fees, Store Subscription, and shipping (if you choose to use available funds) would have been deducted before sending to you bank. - hope that helps

Re: eBay Math

Ebay's method of charging FVFs is not complicated.  The total amount that the buyer pays, including taxes, are charged the 12.9% [most categories] fee plus a 30 cent fixed transaction fee.

The money that goes into  your MP account is what the buyer paid for the product and for shipping less the FVF and the 30 cent fixed fee on the sale.

You aren't required to purchase shipping on Ebay, but if you do, then your shipping charges will get deducted from your MP account.

Your best way to always understand what is being withheld from you is to first understand the Selling Fees policy page.

Second get very familiar with your Seller Hub.  More specifically the Payments Tab.  When you hover over that tab there will be a drop down menu.  Here you will find ALL your detailed information.  Look at the Transactions under the Payment tab will likely be of great help to you.  Then the Summary page will inform you of a lot too.
