eBay Buyer Not Responding - Item Delivered And Paid For

So, I recently sold a gaming console + all of its accessories.  About five days ago the items were confirmed to be delivered to the buyer.  I also added signed confirmation to ensure the package was delivered safely, however the buyer missed the initial delivery so they picked it up at the post office.  I messaged the buyer twice so far to check in, but they still haven’t replied or left feedback.  The payment is being held in my paypal as well, just wondering if I should be worried about the silence on his end, and if I should leave feedback yet.  I took plenty of pics while packing the items and provided a tracking number during the process so I can’t think of any reason to be anxious.   Thought I might also mention that the user was registered in 2014 and he had only positive reviews that seem legit.

Item delivered, move on to something else.  Don't pester your buyer.  If there were anything wrong you would surely hear about it.

List more, sell more. Goodwill that other, uh, stuff.

Does your Delivery Confirmation show that the package was delivered and signed for?  If so, you're protected against a non-delivery claim.  Buyer could still file Not-As-Described, or just ask to return it because, for whatever reason, they just changed their mind.

 

Pictures during packing likely wouldn't help with any eBay claim, but might help with a carrier insurance claim.

 

Sometimes not hearing from the customer is best.  If your tracking shows delivered, your funds should be released soon, usually within 24hrs of delivery.  If not, contact PayPal and/or eBay and ask them to check on why.

Pestering your buyer is not the answer.  You are playing with fire.  You could upset your buyer and then you may end up with feedback you don't want.  Just call PP and ask them to release your funds.

Don't spend your funds yet! Buyers can only have positive feedback so everyone of them has 100%. As a newer seller - you should always start out slow and not sell items in high risk categories or that are expensive. The buyer has 30 days from delivery to open a return case and 180 days in paypal.

 

Too often we see new sellers with high dollar sales come back complaining that the buyer opened a return request and they'd already spent the money. Hopefully you got yourself a honest buyer who's happy with their purchase.

 

As stated - pestering a buyer may lead to bad results. As a new seller I know you are concerned that they are happy with the purchase and your customer service - but things can backfire if they feel harassed.

If there's tracking proving delivery, funds should be released in about 24 hours.

Never pester the client. They will suddenly find a reason to be unhappy. Most clients do not leave feedback at all these days. I get from less then 50% of my transactions.

Feedback nor contact from buyer will not get your funds released.Do not poke a sleeping bear!

If item was less than $750 signature confirmation was not needed for not received protection and you may have irked buyer to have to go pickup because of it.


This is a user to user board not eBay employees.

Unless you are a new seller, I can not figure out why PP would be holding up your funds? Let us know what they say. As far as contacting your buyer- probably not a good idea. If (s)he got the item, paid you and is not asking for a return - its case closed. A Lot of buyers don't bother with feedback. You might consider encouraging positive feedback from a buyer by leaving positive feedback for them right away, when you ship. Good luck.

New seller, selling a gaming system bundle. Yes, they are probably holding the funds a bit longer than usual due to the category.

I have a simply policy re: feedback.  SixBit helps me do it easier, but it's still simple:

 

Feedback for customers who leave positive feedback for me is posted each evening before bed.  A few clicks gets me a list of all the positive feedback I've received but not yet responded to.  Click to select all, click to trigger Post Feedback, click to select the feedback message to send, and click to start the process.  SixBit does the rest.

 

For customers who do not leave feedback, I still leave feedback for them, but 45 days after purchase.  Members have 60 days to leave feedback for each other - if I haven't heard anything by 45 days, I'm likely not going to, so I do another quick-click process -- click to select all sales with no feedback and 45 days past sale date.  Another click to select them all, then click to trigger feedback, and click to select the feedback message (more bland, basic/simple thank you and come again), then click to execute.  SixBit takes care of the rest.

 

I then change the order status from Fulfilled (shipped) to Complete and Archived (feedbacks done).

 

I started using SixBit 20 years ago to more easily post and track sales.  The application continues to grow and refine and enhance -- there's a lot more you can do today that couldn't be done back in '99 -- but that's why SixBit is still considered the #1 eCommerce management system.  The basics are solid and the features just keep coming, fueled by actual interaction of the users with the developers.

If your tracking shows delivered, regardless of customer statements, contact PayPal to find out why your payment hasn't been released and that should take care of that.  If you didn't use a trackable carrier, you get to wait the full 21 days or until the buyer posts feedback.

 

DO NOT CONTACT CUSTOMER SEEKING FEEBACK!  This comes under the category of "Don't kick sleeping bears" and "Hornet nests are not pinatas".  FeedBack is voluntary - don't push or you may receive feedback you regret.

It is better to NEVER hear from your buyer.

 

Don't perturb them...keep your head down, be quiet and go on to the next sale.
