eBay Automatically Lowering Price on Listing

I created a listing for a puzzle for $40. I didn't change the price at all from $40, but when I listed it and eBay sent me a confirmation email, it said that somebody had bought it for $31. I checked the listing, and the Buy It Now price changed, for some reason, from $40 to $31. This was especially unusual because I listed several other items as well and this did not happen to any other listings. Can someone tell me what happened so that I can prevent this in the future?

Re: eBay Automatically Lowering Price on Listing

There is an option you can select when you are creating the listing so that the price will reduce by 5% every 5 days until your item is sold or it reaches a certain amount.
