Hi all, just needed to get something off my chest I'm normally a put up and shut up type of person and I know that sometimes things don't go my way and just take it on the chin, but after recieving yet another email from ebay basically dismissing my case I am more than disillusioned with how sellers are now treated on Ebay ~
I'll try to keep it short but the situation is, I accepted a best offer on a linen jacket, sent the item off, recieved an email saying that the jacket was not suitable because it was too heavy to wear for the country in which it had been purchased for, at first I declined because it is stated I do not take returns on shoes and clothing, I then put it out of my mind because I had family issues to deal with, I then recieved another email asking me to reconsider taking the item back, I answered saying that I didn't really think it was a fair excuse to send it back there was nothing wrong with the jacket, then I had a return case opened against me, the same reason given it was too heavy for the country it was purchased for, then to my dismay I was left a negative feedback, I went on live chat explained the situation, I was told I had to have the item back and that the negative would stay, I decided then either way she was going to get a refund and I would be stuck with a negative, so I contacted and asked her to revise the feedback she would get her refund and really there was no fault on my part, the feedback was revised and I sent the return label for the parcel ~
The jacket came back I thought being linen I would hang it up straight away so I could relist it, I was so upset to see the top button broken in half, and they are like a mother of pearl type of button and unfortunately there is no spare, I had a look through Ebay help & answers to find out how I stood, and then opened a case saying returned item not in same condition, I heard nothing, I then found a call me option which I clicked, I had a call back from a guy in Ireland I think it was who read through all the emails etc and came to the conclsuion if I had appealed the return it would have been ruled in my favour because it was a poor excuse for the return and there was not a problem with it, he said he would put forward an appeal to get £25 back to change the buttons and for the labour, I heard nothing! I then did the call back again this time I struggled to understand what was being said due to the language barrier but in the end I got the answer which was they would put forward an appeal ?? within minutes I had an email telling me the appeal had been closed and ruled in the buyers favour, frustrated with it all I appealed against the decision they had made and explained it all again, low and behold today I have recieved an email saying that the appeal stood and that I should take it to small claims court or get advice from the citizens advice bureau ~
I'm sorry if this post as just bored you all to tears I just needed to get it off my chest and perhaps warn others if the same is done to them, you just can't get the help you need when you are a seller, oh and for the record the jacket weighed just 460 grams not even half a kilo ~
