I posted a thread last month on some great customer service I received from eBay and my sales greatly improved. I was up from the last 30 days and was WAY up over last year. Then I posted a thread this week on getting charged insertion fees plus being charged store listings with no help from eBay. After that, my sale took a turn for the worst. Now my arrows are red instead of green, sales are down. Ghost town here with very little activity. Correlation or coincidence? Has anybody has this same experience? Just in case it's true...I love selling on eBay but my old knees are getting sore from jumping through all the hoops.

Coincidence.

You are giving ebay way too much credit to be able to manipulate sales that way.

I'm going with coincidence, too, but I donned my tin foil hat when I got up this morning, so my reception might be off.

Correlation.
I LOOOOOOVE Devin Wenig so much I want him to be the godfather to my children. Bring on them sales!

The true test will be towards the middle of the month when I am 'turned on' in California. Those are my best selling days, but are the only days that I get sales in Cali. NOT coincidence. I need some good karma right now. I just went to an auction and have some great things to list, so I am excited!

As a practicing Buddhist, I feel it's my responsibility to inform you it's a little late to try to accumulate good karma if you need it by the middle of this month. You should've started long before this . . .

Coincidence.

No coincidence!
Just watch what you think as well!

I don't think they care what sellers think, do, or say. But, just in case, keep trying.

He can have mine with no additional sales or other compensation.

Interesting!
Haven't had that happen, but have noticed that if CS thinks they've answered my question and made me happy then I receive a survey. After filling out the survey with positive marks and comments, then I would often receive a promotion for additional free listings.
LOVE doing business on ebay where the Customer Service Reps are always so helpful! ❤️

You were in the boat with quite a few other sellers that had an issue with the way some GTC listings renewed in July. There was a problem that Ebay has now fixed which allowed GTC listings that were originally created on July 1st to renew on July 31st. That should not have happen. They should have renewed on August 1st, but they did that too.
So it was the July 31st renewal that was incorrect. If you were charged any listings fees on your account for any of these listings, Ebay will be issuing you a credit in the next couple of weeks.
See Post # 2
Speaking for myself, August is typically the slowest month of the year for sales. End of summer, people on vaca, getting ready for back to school, etc. Just busy with the good things in life I guess.

I'll say this... the last two times I've needed to call eBay for assistance, the agent has been very helpful and done their best to resolve my problems - that's the truth.
I'll let you know if I start making bank after saying this.

Coincidence - eBay isn't following anyone around checking up on them - they can barely keep the site running.
Having said that, I *have* always gotten good service from eBay's CSRs (I hope I didn't jinx myself), but it has never made any difference in sales. Neither has open cases, returns, months with a Q in them nor oysters.
