corelle return

Hi, I recently sold two Corelle bowls-the buyer stated that she used them after receiving them but then melted butter in the microwave in one and noticed it leaking-then stated it was washed and it cracked. They want a return for the one(which I'm sure you will all say I have to do) but in a case like this how do you know something wasn't mishandled or whatever after receipt of the item?

Re: corelle return

Sometimes it's worth cutting your losses and making things go away. If you spend a lot of time right-fighting you lose time you could spend selling. For the amount this probably sold for I would have refunded and moved on.

I heat butter in the microwave and have for probably 20 years. No problems.

Re: corelle return

Thanks for all your helpful answers -the buyer did send a picture -it was broken in three pieces -not into a lot of shards as I've normally seen when it it dropped-in re-reading the original message they stated they were heating pasta with butter but also stated they used the bowl a few times before this after receiving it-so it was received un -broken.

Re: corelle return

If they received it unbroken (ie. as described) you shouldn't be held responsible for what they do with it afterwards.
