confused by FP listings for Basic Store

In the Spring announcement the number of free FP listings for a Basic Store will be 1000, up from 350.

But....isn't the Basic Store already proving an additional 10,000 FP listings for certain categories including books if using Managed Payments? I got confused about this and upgraded to Premium because my FP listings hovered around 900.  I thought the Basic Store had only 350 free FP listings.

Why doesn't the FP structure in the Spring Update not mention the additional 10,000 FP listings for a Basic Store in certain categories? Did this go away?

One of the key issues for me is the price of auctions compared to the Store subscription. At my current volume of about 200 auctions a month it's a wash because the savings of having a Basic Store is degraded by having to pay an additional 20 cents per auction.

@keziak

You are correct ... Basic Stores will now receive 1000 Fixed Price in Any category Plus the Additional 10000 Fixed Price in Select Categories and No change in the 250 Auction.

If you dig Deeper into the Spring Update > Fees & Financials > Zero Fee Insertion Allotment  > ... more information

You can see the Updated Information a littler clearer.

Early Termination fees waived for US Sellers <----  Go read this announcement.  It is your saving grace.  You should be able to get out of your Premium store without a penalty.

Looks like you jumped the gun by upgrading.  I would advise to everyone to hold still and not change anything until at least May 2021.  I switched back from a Premium store to a basic a while ago, BP to be exact.  That would be Before Pandemic.  The monthly savings since then and the new announcement about the increase to 1000 fixed price listing played right into my lap.  The real concern is whether or not ebay will do the right thing and keep the 10,000 additional fixed price listing in the game.  We will only know the answer after a few months pass.  The first rule in business is to never trust what the gatekeeper tells you.

 A decrease in the cost of auctions would be more ideal for me than adding to the number of FP listings. Looks like I need to reduce the number of auctions to be more in line with a Basic Store (35 cents per listing), or maintain my current rate (15 cents per listing) but increase my FP listings to more than 1000 to justify the Premium. With all the inventory around here the only problem is my limited time and energy. Writing auctions sucks up lots of time.

confused by FP listings for Basic Store

It's a tricky thing and for me it is hard to accept that some things just don't sell quickly, yet there are days when a group of items will sell that I have had for many years just riding along on the slow train.  As I have mentioned I used to put in the work to keep a Premium store but let it go when GTC was starting up and downsized to the Basic level store I have today.  I was working full time (BP) before pandemic and would be out of the house up to thirteen or fourteen hours a day.

If you sell smalls that can be grouped into lots it can make sense to have a Basic store.  The time suck of creating new listings is real.  Once we were living (and still are) in the modern dark ages I had to downsize my store and like much lower cost per month on a yearly subscription.  I think the up front savings is around $38 per month.

I figure by mid 2022 or early 2023 when we are truly living the (AP) after pandemic life people will go outside and start hugging strangers and no one will spend more than twenty minutes a day on-line for months rain or shine.
