It's a little complex to explain here.
Why don't you read up on it?

One thing I do not see in this help article is that you can combine shipping for multiple separate items in the "print bulk labels". I just found this out talking to a rep the other day about something else. you just check mark the boxes of the ones you want to combine and then there is a drop down in one of the upper tabs that says "combine".... You can then enter all the proper information for the shipping package. I would guess there is a help article on this somewhere and I sure wish I had known about it long ago. It is way easier than printing a label for one and then copying to the other(s). And...the best part is you can then insure the entire amount for all the orders and not just the one per the help article way you reference. Hope this makes sense...I am still new to this function, but it is there.
edit - this is if a buyer pays for all the items separately. You can combine in an invoice if they have not yet paid.

If you have two or more items that are completely paid for BUT separate here is what you do:
-Use the Print label choice on ONE of the items.
-When the label flow page opens look in the upper right and click the "Print labels in bulk" link
-The next page is where you Combine items with check boxes and Remove items with check boxes that will NOT be combined. Once you only have the items to be combined use the check boxes and then the Combine button at the top of the list.
-The next page is where you update the weight and dimensions for the single package with all the items in in, then cycle through the Review and pay process.
-If you want a receipt AFTER you print the label you have to select that and print a separate page
