clueless about VAT

I am completely confused about what my obligations are in regards to VAT.  How difficult will it be to remain complaint in regard to VAT?  I don't do a ton of international business and I'm wondering if it is worth it to go through whatever is required..  It all sounds really complicated!  Thanks

Yep, I stopped shipping to Europe when ebay said they would shut down stores if they didn't comply. I ship through the global shipping program and ebay didn't provide any details on who would be responsible for the VAT obligation for those orders.

Thanks!!  Do you recall the easiest way to access the global shipping settings?

Ebay is the one who automatically collects UK VAT from the buyer, and also distributes it to the UK for us sellers. We don't have to do anything except be sure that Ebay's VAT number (GB  365 6085 76 CODE: PAID) is on the shipping/customs label in at least one obvious place that attracts UK Customs' attention.

I use stamps.com for all of my shipping, where I copy and paste the buyer's s address and VAT information from the View Order Details drop-down box in Ebay's Seller Hub, onto the Customs Declaration label page. I have sent 4 sales to the UK since the first of the year when the change on Ebay came about, and they have all been delivered without any hitches.

   Hope this helps...

Cheers, Duffy
