Another thing that needs to be changed is that the seller should be able to choose the return shipping service. When a seller offers free returns, Amy returns, no matter the reason, are automatically approved and the buyer is automatically sent a USPS return label regardless of how the item was shipped to the buyer. The worst one I had was when I shipped a large airless paint sprayer to a buyer, and it didn't work. (It was new and factory sealed). The buyer opened a return and was sent a USPS return label. I paid around $46.00 to ship it to him by FedEx, but the USPS return was charged to me for $76.00!
Before the buyer shipped it, I sent a message asking him not to use the USPS label and allow me to send him a FedEx return label, but he didn't trust that since the label wouldn't be from eBay! I ha e complained about this procedure several times, but nobody at eBay will cooperate.
If you want to use a different return service change your return settings to require RMA number. Then you reply to returns with RMA number and a shipping label of your own choice which you purchase from online postage vendor of your choice.

"Once the card is returned, inspect it before refunding." My understanding is once the delivery shows up the refund will go through. Its stupid and I've just stopped worrying about it!
"a bog-standard routine remorse return" - the return seemed to show up immediately after i left positive feedback for a 2nd transaction and I had mailed it out. It was odd.
Thanks for the comments, I feel like I got it easy. I'm not offering a 14-day approval service, but I guess I am.
I see now regardless whether I accept Best Offers or not, Ebay is going to send them to me.
