hi,
i posted a large expensive parcel from uk to usa on 20th june. i advised the seller it would likely be 2-3 weeks for delivery. she opened a case against me yesterday 29th june because it hasn't arrived yet. she has had tracking details which show the parcel is in her state. my concern is, ebay seem to always favor the buyer. 4 days is up on monday when the seller can escalate the case. i have already had my payment frozen. it was a large ammount and unless i pay it back i cannot buy using paypal. what will happen if ebay decide in favor of the buyer then i pay back the money and the item i sold is in USA? does the buyer have to pay me a second time or post it back to UK. Who wouls be liable for the return postage. it is a disgrace that ebay allow a buyer to open a case before the parcel is even late. i am well fed up.

If item is refunded then deliveried ebay can not get the buyer to repay.
What is the estimated delivery date shown on the order details?Case opening is based on that date not anything you told buyer.
When does the tracking from the carrier show item will be delivered?
In the case post the tracking number,do not escalate.

Did you enter the tracking number to the sale? Does the buyer have the tracking number so they can check? If you didn't enter it, all the buyer knows is they paid and have no information to check for where the item is. If they have no info, they probably think you didn't even mail it yet. What is the due arrival date?

hi , the order details don't show any estimated or delivery date i clicked on show shipping details and it states the item has been delivered but it really hasn't it just made it to the parcel hub for forward shipping. the tracking says it is in the right state but no delivery date. i have it in writing from the courier that they attempted to deliver this monday but the buyer says no card was left. it takes time because i can only contact the service in UK who then email the courier in USA and with me working and the time difference it isn't quick. this it taking up huge ammounts of my time. so stressed. it cost me £86 to ship to USA.

Enter the tracking number into the case, then the action is waiting for the buyer to respond. If you go and look up the tracking details it probably tells you the date of delivery. If the items is in the buyers home state then chances are it will be delivered within a day or two which should be fine for your case that is opened. Just keep an eye on the tracking and the minute it shows delivered, call eBay and have them close the case in your favor.
Good Luck Selling!

If the tracking shows delivered, you have an option to just call and ask them to close the case right now for you. I understand the item might not have been delivered but you can keep communications open with your buyer about anything forthcoming.

Again, you need to enter the tracking information number to the sale on eBay, so eBay and the buyer can see it. If neither can see the number, or has the number, neither one can know where it is. Therefore as far as anyone else apart from you is concerned, they have no idea where it is or even if it got mailed. You sending them a message saying its in their state isn't evidence for eBay or the buyer, they need the tracking number.

the buyer has the tracking and the day before she opened the case i sent an update showing the parcel had arrived in her state. she also had confirmation when it was picked up by the courier on 20th june. i buy from US and would never raise a case so early. parcels often take 2-3 weeks to get to us.

sorry, i wasn't clear. she has the tracking number entered by me on the listing as well as by message. she can see it is in her state if she tracks the item. so can ebay . she has the phone number of the courier service but has not answered me yet as to if she has called it.

July 4th is Tuesday. Monday is an official work day, although many take it off.

Reply to the dispute with the tracking info copied from the postal web sites (US and UK). At least appear that you are dealing with it and dont just ignore it with no comment.

It is up to you how to move forward but you said it was a higher priced transaction and you seem concerned about having to refund and lose the item. If the tracking truly does show delivered I would call and have the case closed ASAP. Then I would communicate with your buyer about the location the possible date of delivery. If it has already been attempted to be delivered it will say so in the UPS tracking details. They will try again on Monday and maybe Tueday if they are operating on our holiday.

thank you. i have done that yesterday and today.

if you can, I would call ebay and ask for an extension on the case, pointing out that tracking shows almost there, but could be delayed because of the holiday. Usually they will extend the time here in the States if parcel shows recent movement.
