What you can do to help with deadbeats who do not pay is open an Unpaid Item Dispute and give them a Strike.
Then set your own Seller Preferences/Buyer Requirements to automatically Block bids from deadbeats.
EBay recently started automatically cancelling Unpaid transactions after four days (two to four days faster than a manual Dispute and cancellation). You have to sign up for it.
Was your problem with a Not As Described dispute? Those are harder to win.

That seller who told you that was wrong.
Did you read the link posted in Message #4? It's Rule #8:
"No naming and shaming. We will not tolerate posting about listing or member violations. Item numbers, auction links, negative/neutral feedback scores, other members’ ID or contact information posted for the purpose of shaming another member will be edited or removed. Read more about this policy here."

You can warn others to look out for certain scams and you can ask for help or advice in handling a difficult buyer/situation. If you single out someone to warn others about them it will get taken down. Do you mind if I ask what happened in your situation?

Wait One Minute Here, reddogroad1965.
You have been an eBay member for 20 years.
You have very close to 8,500 feedback.
You currently have 1,171 active listings.
And you did not know that you cannot "warn" other sellers about buyers who have given you problems?
I strongly suggest you spend some more time reading this Selling Community forum.

When you give a buyer a Strike, other sellers who have set their Preferences to automatically Block bidders with Strikes, can upon investigation see the ID of a customer with Unpaid Item Strikes.
Otherwise, eBay stopped letting sellers shoot themselves in the foot, by leaving negative feedback for customers, because no one would ever read those except future customers.
There are apparently sites with names of members who should be avoided, but none of them are useful. Names change and many of those names were added by persons with unusual standards of morality.
