buyer bid 3 times bid anount stayed the same, glitch?

Hi, I just noticed I had 3bids on one item but the price is still the same as when I listed it, It says the same person bid on it 3 times, is this some kind of glitch? Should I be worried about anything?    Thanks in advance.

Those are automatic bids...

so if some one out bids the buyers first bid, he has backup bids up to his max. bid.

Nothing to worry about.

Normal result. Buyer can not bid against themselves.

Buyer just putting more bids in case someone else bids. As long as no one else bids it will not go up. Buyer could bid 50 times it woulld still stay at starting amount

No, this is how eBay has worked for many years. A buyer does not bid against himself. 

If there is a $5 item and I bid $10 on it, the current bid shows as $5 and my maximum bid is $10.

If I decide to come back later and bid $15, the current bid still shows as $5 and my maximum bid is increased to $15.

The only time current bid will increase is if someone ELSE bids against me.

hello, thank you for your response , let me explain a little better , my starting bid is 2.95 and someone placed a bid for 2.95 then it said the same person bid 2 more times and the price is still at 2.95 , thats where I became confused on whats happening how can the same person bid 3 times and it still be at the same price I listed it as? Thats why I was wondering if there was a glitch? Ive never experienced this before. Thank you

The bid amount won't go UP unless it needs to... the buyer has put more money in the pot, but you don't know how much is sitting there (and nobody except the bidder does) and it will only pop up into view as needed, one increment at a time, to keep this bidder up on top of another bidder, IF another bidder shows up.

Ebay doesn't make us pay any more than we have to, so if we get something for the opening bid of $20 but we put $100 in the pot, just in case... we may win for that $20 and never have to dip into the pot, never be charged for that amount we were willing to pay.

No glitch here, just how bidding works.

No matter how many times a buyer bids, it won't show an increase unless someone else bids AGAINST them.

Buyer is just raising his maximum bid.

With all due respect, but given the nature of this question, I would suggest becoming familiar with Ebay procedures and policies both as a buyer and as a seller.
