boycott?

A friend says there is a boycott right now against Ebay/Elon Musk. I am not on social media so I don't know. Sales are down quite a lot though, compared to a good week last week. Anyone know about such a thing?

Re: boycott?

I grew up in a series of funky really small towns. People tended to build vehicles in their garage or barn and tool around the roads in them or drive them through town (one main road). One I particularly remember had a wooden truck bed on a chassis with four wheels, a steering column  with a steering wheel, an engine just bolted to the front, and a chair also bolted down, to the truck bed. I didn't see the brake assembly. Someone else had a box-like structure that rolled around - they covered it with primer gray. Not to mention all the cars people painted with house paint and a roller. 😗 First time I saw a cybertruck I was irresistibly reminded of some of the kludges I had seen tooling around back in the day.

Oh yeah, and I went to high school with a girl who drove a jalopy which had an oily rag hanging out of the gas tank in lieu of a gas cap.

Re: boycott?

I would LOVE to Boycott EBAY.  They screwed up and resold and item I sold After it was shipped.  Then they withdrew the payment!!! I'm not sure if I'll ever get paid.  You can't talk to anyone.  Just useless IA both in the chat and phone call.  EBAY has to learn that they can't treat people like this and survive.

(Duly noting that yes, we have revived a six-month-old thread...)

I'm starting to notice a lot of Teslas in traffic with stickers on the back, wording varies, but the general intent is to say that they bought their Tesla before all the Musk-related grief broke out (apologies for the windshield reflections below):

This particular car was sporting not one but two disclaimers. Besides "ANTI ELON TESLA CLUB," the smaller one reads "I BOUGHT THIS BEFORE ELON BECAME FIRST LADY"

Re: boycott?

Re Cybertrucks : originally meant to be released in 2021 probably due to the end of major conflicts GWOT. The Cybertruck is a tribute to the F-117 Nighthawk. Another aircraft tribute car was the 1951 Studebaker Champion Starlight - WWII P-38 Lightning.

Anyroad, use your head, henge_luan, don't ban eBay (or Tesla) because silly people say so.

And that's why you get away with it, for now.
