im getting really mad at the placement of this option! I always use the "sell similar" to create a listing coz i sell similar items all the time. Well the first time i seen a $4 dollar charge i was like...Wahh? I found out that the bold title in search option box had been ticked off. I was like oh man i didnt do that..but then i was like okay maybe i did coz it didnt tick itself off. But yesterday i was re-doing ALLL my titles and by accident another one was ticked off. Common Ebay can you please move the placement of this option so ppl like me who are poor dont accidentally click it?

If you are using sell similar, I think a bold title will carry over to a new listing.
It's something YOU have to watch for.......

I use the Advanced listing form. The option for BOLD title is just below the TITLE when creating the listing. I don't see how someone could accidentally click that box.

For real? good for u. are you saying i checked it on purpose? if i did, why in da hell am i sitting here feeling wronged? I checked it off on accident duh. (i actually think it was pre-checked off, meaning i dont even think i did it...i think Ebay did)

I never, ever use bold titles, but on a couple of occasions, the same happened to me. I didn't catch either time, though, until I was checking my fees when it was time to make my monthly payment and I just happened to see the $4.00 charges. Even though it's something I never do, I assumed I ticked the boxes by accident when I made the listings...

When you set up the listings, right above the submit button, it'll tell you if there are any extra fee's and how much they are.

i am aware of that thanks,
i was doing re-doing 30 + listing titles at the time.. i was going fast and since they normally are zero fee, i just was not expecting it to change

Happened to me when I listed using my phone. It's very easy to accidentally check it without noticing. I only list on my computer now.

It happened to me last week on a pottery item (fee was 2.00). I NEVER select bold title. I found out when I was checking my fees. I tried to revise the listing and was able to uncheck the box but then I realized that, since my account was already charged, I was not going to get an automatic credit and was not sure the title would change anyway. I didn't feel like calling ebay as I felt that they wouldn't believe me and I would waste my time. I kept the box checked.
I am glad (unfortunately) to see I am not alone experiencing this "checked box" incident. Maybe this is a glitch that needs to be taken seriously.

It's not a glitch, just another underhanded eBay money grab.

Oh, its very easy to have that box checked and I believe that's why they have it where they do. I've had it happen a couple of times but catch the charge at the bottom of the page prior to listing the item. eBay has a couple of "screen jumps" that can occur during listing and that's when it can happen ... again, I've experienced it.
