automatic relisting

ive been on  ebay since 2009.  i could list an item, it would automatically

relist 3 times, after that i had to manually relist, and would automatically relist  for another 3 times, and so on and so on.   only the manuel relist would be deducted from my listing limit.  therefore, i could keep close to 250 items at all times throughout the month.  that is gone.  now i must relist manually every 10 days using up my listing limit by day 20, leaving 10/11 days each month with no items for sale.   this seems very counter productive for a business (ebay) to wA

Are you talking about Auction? There’s a limit to how many times they can auto relist.

Auction-style listings

If you select the auto-relist option (if available) when you create your listing:

  • Auctions with a duration of 5 days or more will be automatically relisted up to 8 times
  • Auctions with a duration of 1 or 3 days will be automatically relisted up to 8 times as a 7-day listing
  • Auto-relists are free, except for listings in vehicles categories

Automatic relisting is available for most categories, but there are some exclusions (see below). If your item doesn’t sell after 8 relists, it will appear in your unsold items

Keep in mind that the automatic relist option is only available on listings created by new and occasional sellers. The option will not show for other sellers.

Are you still using Auctions?

EBay continues to offer that format because it is its "brand" but one reason there are so few purely auction sites left is that neither buyers nor sellers like them much.

Buyers today want Immediate Gratification, not to wait seven days to learn they were outbid by a last nanosecond sniper.

Sellers don't like the very high rate of Unpaids, when bidders get bored move on and buy elsewhere before the auction is over.

Less than 15% of transactions are now Auctions, and even those often have Buy It Now or Best Offer enabled to end the auction immediately.

I notice that most of your Sold listings went for the opening bid. You will never know what the buyer was willing to pay, since there was no underbidder.

Simple fix.

Use Fixed Price.

Add Immediate Payment Required if you have UID problems.

Add Best Offer if you don't mind that accepting a BO ends the INR function.

You've been on eBay long enough to have a good idea of the market value of your items.

Remember when GTC was implemented everyone was complaining about it.

Everyone threatened to quit and It was the downfall of ebay.   LOL
