If the USPS requires me to send an item registered and I seal the entire package with tamper proof paper and USPS tamper proof stamps, does this mean that the 'authenticity guarantee' steps in and rips open a registered, return receipt, insured item? How can I trust someone I do not know to repack my sold items and not screw it up? Sounds like a middleman scam here and eBay just inserts itself in the process because they can. If I sell a $5,000 sports card, I am forced to have an unidentified person rip the package open and trust them to pack as well as I do and as the USPS requires? Does this mean your person who interferes with the shipping process must repack, re-insure and re-register for signature? That's the very least you should do for putting a no-name person in the middle of the process with no QA, QC or other control of standards.

The program is just as much if not more for the seller's protection than it is for the buyer.
You can read up on the details.

(No you can't bypass the AG if the item qualifies for AG on ebay.

Never sell an item you can't afford to lose. The bottom line.

Because you haven't sold anything in 30 days?...or anything expensive?....it will be 30+ days to ever get that payment. This is not for fast quick money if you don't sell every month.
Because this is the USA item would be certified with a written signature confirmation....not registered.
Insured items are for something lost in the mail....not damaged.
Don't know if I ever saw tamper proof paper(FedEx has those envelopes for wet proof)...USPS tamper proof stamps?....I never seen one and I sell stamps.

Why would USPS require you to use Registered Mail?
Why would you wrap the entire package in tamper proof paper?
What are USPS tamper proof stamps?
What exactly are you trying to accomplish?
